Zorn1: The great fall

Well Coolio, I`ll be glad if you stay with us, but you shouldn`t force yourself to play. It´s a game after all, and you should enjoy it.
But give RaR a little time. It`s quite overwhelming at the beginning, but once you got into it, it`s really a great mod.

Sorry Disen, if you haven`t at least postet here tomorrow, I`ll have to skip you.

Just a short writeup, to point out the most important events:

- We are in the MA, and are progressing with a 2 -3 turns per tech.
- I founded only two new cities, but several more settlers are en route. The setteling phase should be over soon.
- I think we should garrison our cities, at least the border cities in the east. I have started to build pikes from our capitol, but we might want to build a barracks in another citiy too.
- We got another SGL. Any Ideas what to rush with this guy? I was thinking of Chichen Itza, but it becomes obsolete with juris prudence. If we keep our tech pace up, we might have it befor we connected the incence and buildt the temples. Any other suggestions?

50K will be difficult...

First I changed the .biq, so that the culture limit is 100000. This was done to consider the huge map size (it was stated above).
And second, don´t forget the variant - AW from nationalism on, only defensive wars earlier. This will probably lead to a domination or conquest victory, allthough I wouldn`t mind any other.

Hey guys; managed to get my computer fixed but the internet will not be connected up at home for a few weeks. Luckily, thanks to the joys of abusing the free internet at work I can get the saves there and still play. But, of course I won't be able to pick up the files on weekends so if my turn comes up then just skip,wait, or swap, I really don't mind.

We now return to your regulary scheduled Succession Game...

Eh, wasit?

Oh yes the turn;

0)350BC Everything looks good. Do we want to keep kiev? I'd like some elephant riders so I sell the Celts currency+military training for Seafaring+Riding+200gp

1)330BC Okaaay, boy is my face red - Celts enter middle ages...Barbarain uprising, theres a barb camp with 2 squares of undefended Riga, loose about 700gp.

I would save Korolev for Leonardo's workshop in order to trigger our golden age (of infrastrucutre building).

The city placement feels less than optimal I must say, oh well. Decide to get rid of Kiev

2)310BC

Found Grozny, spy another barb stack approaching. 7 horses in the north detour to take out an aztec town

3)290BC Feudalism comes in, start on Crop rotation
Buy Elephant training off the celts for furs
since we will loose alot of gold from the barbs decide to rush alot of stuff.

4)270BC Barbs attack riga
Build Hardtopronouncesk

5)250BC
Build Maikop (kiev replacement town 1)

6)230BC
Crop Rotation>>Invention
Build Kursk on the south western coast
Build Novy Kiev
Connect up the exotic fruits by Rostov

7)210BC
Found Magnitogorsk

8)190BC
Invention>>Milling

9)170BC
Chinese build Hanging gardens
Abandon Old Kiev
Build Urlask up by the wines beyond the aztecs

10)150BC
Lots of Barbs
Milling>>Scientific method

Moscow is up to 30spt (2 turn elephants)
The hardy pioneer is to cross the mountains and settle by the gems and elephants (will need escorts!)
Remeber to upgrade our workers (I forgot)
Use Korolov to trigger our golden age (stonehenge was expansionist) with the Scientific wonder leonardos
Try to keep the gold resevre small due to barbarian hordes.

Start it up. Technologically we are doing very well, but our military is lacking. Especially the many unguarded cities on our eastern border trouble me. If the aztecs decide to make troubles, their jaguar warriors can wreck our whole empire in a couple of turns.

T1

Moskow: Elephant -> Water Mill
Minsk: Elephant -> Water Mill
Tibisi: Elphant: -> Water Mill

T2

Sevastopol: Harbour -> port
Astrakhan: Wise man -> Forge

Disperse a barbarian camp

T3

Sciantific method discovered, go for clockworks
Sverdlofsk: barracks -> pike
Novgorod: Academy -> barracks

Interturn: A wonder is buildt, and the cascade starts. I noticed that the oracle is not yet buildt. If we could get it, that would be two additional mediveal techs for free. I decide to give it a try.
And we finally lost our two remaining scouts.

T4

uneventful

T5

Moskow: Water mill -> shrine (for Oracle)
Smolensk: Water mill -> barracks
Dnepr: Forge -> wind mill

Interturn:

Ghandi calls. He wants military tradition, and offers republic. I refuse, because we have no need for republic and no desire to speed up the AIs tech developement.

T6

Get clockworks, next is usury

T7

Moskow: Shrine -> Oracle (due in 7, chances are quite well)

T8

St. Petersburg: Port -> water mill
Yakutsk: Academy -> water mill

T9

Smolensk: Barracks -> pike
Odessa: Water mill -> wind mill
Riga: Forge -> hardy pioneer
Kharkov: Forge -> windmill

T10

Vladivostok: Hardy pioneer -> barracks
Novy kiew: Forge -> barracks

I haven´t read that we got a SGL, sorry. When I noticed it, I had allready started the oracle, and didn´t want to waste those shields.
If we can grab it, we can rush leos immedeately after, giving us a total of 4 techs for free.
If we don´t get oracle, we can allways fall back to some other ancient wonder, or the academy, so our risk here is low.

I spent most of my turn with milling and building barracks on the border. When those are finnished, please garrison our eastern cities. Those aztecs are really creepy.

Two pioneers are heading to the unclaimed jungle. Suggested dotmap:

Leo's is good for the SGL, especially if we time our research properly to finish the turn we build oracle. 1000 shields is very expensive for early MA, and it gives a big beaker boost too.
