    I read your American cities thread. The degree of emotion to your concern and fear of American cities is blown hilariously out of proportion. There's a reason people live in cities, and it's because they are entirely liveable, un-horrifying, conducive-to-human-desire (including desires for calmness and security) places to be.

    I'm currently reading Semaun's, An Early Account of the Independence Movement, for free on the internet. It's quite good. I should really get around to reading all that Marxist literture I ordered. To little time, to much free stuff :(

    That so? I had always had it down as a pretty heavy piece. Showing my ignorance, I suppose! Anyway, it's definitely something I want to come to, I'm just trying to figure out a basic position without having to throw myself into a three-thousand page beast like that. ;)

    Out of interest, how did you yourself become converted to Marxism? My conversion-in-progress is more or less a natural evolution, but it doesn't seem like the most obvious for a former neo-conservative to stumble into, even after a move to the left.

    I haven't read it, but I have read books like it. All I can really say is that the approach is dated from my standpoint as an economist. I think the methodology would interest you though. :D
