  • 2. Disunited Italy, would it really be divided for any meaningful length of time before reunifying? I mean I suppose political divisions can persist for awhile, look at North Korea and South Korea, but a Papal States dominant over Italy is I feel a bridge too far. The commies are going to revolt before long and they'll be hanging priests in the street.

    3. France is Nazi Germany, you mentioned yourself France can't match German manpower. I'm not sure how good the flip of circumstance works. I've seen Paradox scenarios where you have France being fascist and overrunning all kinds of territory. Hell Kaiserreich, with a commie France. No doubt there were fascistesque groups in France like Action Francaise and others. As you said though rampant militarism and aggressive industrialization is unsustainable. I really can't envision a French blitz of Germany. However I can see a French intervention in Iberia, perhaps detaching significant border areas after unseating the commies.
Alright so finishing up with the alternate history. Interesting geopolitical situation, particularly Russia/Germany relationship and whats going on in China/Japan, however:

    1. I find the Communist Iberia hard to buy. You have some sort of quasi-fascist Weygard France and they're not going to swoop in and crush Iberia? Perhaps Britain and Germany would even help. In real life the Entente intervened in the Russian civil war, I mean Germany, America, Britain, and Japan all got involved in that. And Britain and the US were far removed. With communists on their doorstep I find it hard to believe the UK and France wouldn't shut that craziness down.
    (2) The German commitment to China. I understand with Russia onside the Trans-Siberian is open and Russian troops are already fighting for the Qing. That's understandable. But did the Germans really have such great interest in China to send soldiers and commit to such a degree? I suppose that with the Eastern front non-existent, it wouldn't have been so difficult to spare troops. Still seems odd since China was tangential in World War I and Germany barely contested those colonies.
In your alternate history (which btw is excellent, its like reading a history book; that's supposed to be a compliment) I have questions about two things mainly:

    (1) The behavior of the Ottomans in delivering an ultimatum to Russia. What madness possessed them? Even backed by an alliance with the British and French and having an emboldened CUP leadership I'm finding it hard to buy. Ottoman involvement in World War I was forced on them as you said by the Russians and the behavior of the British and French and economic issues over the capitulations and their debt. In this scenario I know you have the parallel to Austria-Hungary but I'm not sure the assassination by an Armenian would be enough to make them go and demand territory. Something they must have known the Russians would never accept. In this scenario why do the Ottomans face the same impetus for war?
Hey Dachs, I was following what you were saying about how it was foolish of the dem-republicans to pay Napoleon for the louisiana territory. What do you think would have been more wise? Simply taking it, or demanding it an ultimatum? Or something completely different, probably.
I don't feel strongly about the Chinese food saga either, but I do want to know why you purposely didn't capitalize marsellus.
So yea funny story. The Hist dep. head wanted me to come in today and show him my work on the website. He didn't say a time so I showed up at our normal time. When I got there he was locking his door and putting his coat on while another professor was waiting on him. Dr. Marcus is usually a nice guy, but when he walked past me he said in a strangely pompous time "I have to go to a Luncheon I don't time to talk to you right now, come back at 1:30" and walked out without even really looking at me. It was obvious that he was just going to lunch with his friend because the other professor was a guy who's offered to be my grad adviser who chuckled to me as he walked out the door, "sorry didn't know you wanted to talk to him, I'd have come later." Its funny that some people think they have turn on the super important pants when other people are around.
I'm happy you say that. You have just been posting some strange things lately, simply put.
    (Wasn't room for an edit)

Yeah, sorry bout the tone of my last post, it's not intented as being offensive. I'm sorry if I make it appear as such, if you find anything offensive, I just take it back, as it is not my intention.
I wish not to create tedious rambling in a thread as it doesn't concern other people than us.

You're not very good at fake psychofanny if you're drawing that conclusion from that post.

It was kind of a contextual reply, seeing how your recent posting culture has been. I've seen you change strangely recently and it's not for the better.

And what is your crapspasm about this "psychofanny" concept? What's that supposed to mean? I mean... I could care less about your attitude, but not your attitude towards me, because that in particular is not pleasant. I'm not asking you to make friends, but your strange attachment to pseudoharassment and trolling me makes me seem much more important to you as an object than I actually am to myself.

And yes, I'm saying that on top on what you call me using stuff for livejournal.
Knowing your USA#1 philosophy, you're desperately needed in the "let's bash Britain" thread. The limeys are greatly outnumbering me. :(
Same. My insides hurt and I'm about to go back to the clinic. Nice hearing from you Dachs, hope things get better for you
