[LH] The Frog Prince 2016-10-05

The Frog Prince is a fairy tale best known through the Brother's Grimm version.

Once upon a time, a beautiful princess walked through the woods with her favorite toy, a golden ball. While playing with it, she accidentally dropped it into a pond. As she wept for its loss, a frog hopped up to her a promised to get the ball for her, in return for her lasting kindness. She found herself disgusted with the frog, but she agreed. The frog found her ball, but instead of showing him kindness, she ran back to her castle. Later, she heard a knock at the door. The frog had returned and politely asked if he could join them for dinner. The princess ran to her father the king and told him of the frog. After hearing her story, the king told her not to be rude to someone who has shown her kindness and invited the frog to dinner. They ate as a family, and after dinner was eaten, the frog asked to sleep on the princess' pillow. At her father's insistence, she carried the frog to her room and set him down on her dresser. When the frog insisted he be moved to her pillow, she picked him up and threw him against a wall (note that she did not kiss him). After hitting the wall, the frog stood up and revealed himself to be a prince with a kind face. He explained that a witch cursed him to live as a frog and that only a princess could break the spell.

This depiction of him is his post-frog state. His look is based on the world-famous puppeteer Jim Henson, and if you look closely, you can see that his pupils are based on those of Kermit the Frog.
