0.20 First Turn CTD issue

This is being caused by having "Show Health Bars" enabled in your game options. Unselect that option and you should work. Im looking into a real fix right now.

I can't reproduce this so Im going to need some help from you guys. If you are having this problem please try the following steps. If you aren't having the problem please don't post in this thread.

Step 1: Information

1. What is your Operating System?
2. How much memory do you have?
3. What kind of video card do you have?
4. How much memory does your video card have?
5. What version of Internet Explorer do you have?
6. Do you have Warlords installed?
7. Are you using a no-CD hack?

Step 2: Reinstall

1. Rename your 'C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4' to 'C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4.old'.
2. Rename your '..\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4' to '..\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4.old'
3. Reinstall Civ4.
4. Apply the 1.61 patch.
5. Reinstall Fall from Heaven 2 0.20 to the default location.

Do you still have the problem?

Step 3: Get Mean

1. Rename your 'C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Mods\Fall from Heaven 2 020\Assets\python' directory to ''C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Mods\Fall from Heaven 2 020\Assets\python.old' and restart the mod. You will get some errors when the mod starts, but it shouldn't CTD.

Does this stop the CTD's?

2. Rename the python directory back.

3. Rename the 'C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Mods\Fall from Heaven 2 020\Assets\CvGameCoreDLL.dll' to 'CvGameCoreDLL old.dll'. You will get a lot of error loading the mod and starting the game, but it shouldn't CTD.

Does this stop the CTD's?

4. Rename the CvGameCoreDLL.dll fire back.

Do you still have the problem? Haven't tried, but Civ4 vanilla and FfH 016 work

so is the DLL the problem for me then? the CTD stops but theres no interface and a billion errors

btw, as for my comps specs:

1. Windows
2. 178gb total, 8,09 free Edit: oh you meant RAM, sorry, I'm a newb when it comes to specs. 1024 ram.
3. Some kind of nVidia, sorry, don\t know more
4. No idea
5. 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519IS

7. I don't use no-cd hack. But I run civ4 through daemon from my own iso.

Thank you guys. Im going to build a couple different versions of the CvGameCoreDLL.dll to try to isolate which change is breaking us.

Could you guys try renaming the CvGameCoreDLL.dll to CvGameCoreDLL old.dll then copying the CvGameCoreDLL.dll from 0.16 into the 0.20 Assets directory to make sure that loads. You will get lots of errors again, but I want to make sure it doesn't CtD.

I'm using standard 1024 x whatever the standard format is which is paired with 1024. Anyway, it's standard, so it can't be that.

Hmm, this also happened back in an old release, I don't remember if it was 0.14 or 0.15. Goes to show that the dev team plays without health bars.

P.S. maybe if you can remember what went wrong then it will help you fix it this time.
