1.3!

That is one of the main purposes of the wiki.

Using our templates, any page without flavor or strategy text is automatically placed in a category with other similar pages. Flavorless Promotions, Strategyless Units, etc. Adding text to the page immediately removes it from the category, as well. ;)

I really like how eager you all are and everything, but every time I see a new reply on this thread, I think its some extremely important announcement from Valkrionn, which is odd, because I have access to the team forum...

Anyways, good work on the launcher anw! Not that it's new news to me... :p

well, pediareader looks like this (( attachment ))
it allows you to search for some string, you can see all txt_keys, all hidden options, etc, etc

right now i'm adding support for modules, since this program was created before i finished MPL :D

edit: new version that supports modules

The important thing with the pedia reader is this: It lets you easily view the raw xml data of the game, jump between linked entries easily (for example, from a unit to the promotions it starts with), and view (AND COPY, which is the big one!) the associated text just by clicking the textkey. For the purposes of Wiki work, it is amazing. :goodjob:

Alright, some of the questions floating round my head are buzzing a bit too much to ignore.

Therefore:

Emergent Leaders. Am I right in saying they can gain new traits depending on how they play, which changes them to a minor/major leader? And can they all get the same traits, or are there restrictions?

Unit High Scores: Is it a bug that mine don't seem to work at all? Every value, apart from current things such as promotions, shows up as 0. The Hunter that just killed a Goblin has done 0 damage in all it's life, according to the high scores.

unit highscores don't work. think they stopped working somewhere around fall further and nobody bothered to fix them.

yes, emergent leaders can gain one (and iin some rare cases, two) new traits based on what you do.
There are no restriction on what leader can gain what trait.
But some of this will change in the coming versions (i think 1.4).

Yes, you can gain a new trait as you play (example: Taking out a civ grants Aggressive), and the leader then becomes Major and is unable to gain a new trait. This is all going to change in 1.4, however.

Unit High Scores are broken, yes. No idea when it happened (happened with FF), not sure if it'll be fixed or just removed yet.

Thanks again for the answers, and I hope you do fix the unit statistics. They look fun.

Edit: Argh! I just noticed that, somehow, I posted these questions in entirely the wrong place!

Once... Just ONCE, I'd like to start posting on a forum without doing something to embarrass myself almost straight-away...

Heh, it's not a big deal. I check every single post in the forum.

I'm beginning to notice that, which is nice. I don't often find a game with such an active developer.

But I'm serious about the "every single time" thing. I think a few parts of my mind were taking bets on how long it would be before I did something like that here.

Well, on the bright side, this usually means I won't do anything else stupid for a while.

Usually. :please:

Yes, fix them please, so I can check how many unit my immortal killed or that lucky warrior too.
Anyways, why there is a "enable combat log" option in create game, if I cannot see unit stadistics?

Combat log isn't unit stats, it is a tab in the standard log that exists in BtS and is disabled by default in RifE for performance reasons.

Part of the same log that keeps track of event text, for example.

howdy.

just thought I'd poke my head in and see what's been happening with my favorite mod.
glad to see things are still very much alive and progressing. I'm getting excited about 1.3!

Kudos on carrying the torch on this one. Looking forward to... everything!
