1.52 Patch Available

The game crashes everytime on exit now, and the slow "next turn" bug remains, but otherwise it looks good. I actually saw my first victory movie now without crashing!

What is this for? This is a single-player game I started to test things out:

I never set a password or started a hotseat game.

I loaded a 1991 saved game:
I got messages about 5-6 cities joining my country (They have always been mine)
The year in-game showed as 1971
Scrolling aorund the map worked great at first, then suddenly slowed to a crawl.
Then I had to go to work and stop playing...O the injustice!

Is anyone getting really weird facial expressions just right when you meet Tokugawa and um, one of the Latin American chieftains [I forget which one]. Their eyes almost bulge out of their heads and then return to normal. They seem to be baring [that's the correct present participle of "bare", it just looks wrong] their teeth as well. Is this just me?

I still get white eyes with Asoka, Genghis Khan, and a few other civs when playing in low textures and I have the latest Nvidia 81.95 drives. When the low textures button is not clicked, they look fine though, hopefully a later patch will fix this.

MeteorPunch: you can password protect the game so no one can use the cheat functions (WorldBuilder). Useful for SP competitions.
Why is the password already there, though? I didn't set anything.

I only get a glimmer of white eyes, as you call it. As if, in a rush to present their picture, they were still putting on their eyelids and lips. Maybe it's a nod to politicians' makeup artists or something.

Came as a surprise for me. Let's see how the new changes work :)

I'm actually pretty upset that the "cheat mode" is no longer available. I like to experiment in game every so often by giving a smaller civ some cash and see what they do with it. PLus sometimes after a hard day of work, I just want to destroy everyone on the face of the planet. I guess I wont be installing this patch until a cheat option comes out.

Cheat mode is still an option. You can disable it though when you start a single-player game.

The same thing happened when I loaded a pre-patch game. I have not had any trouble with 1.52 other than the game was incredibly slow after I exited worldbuilder on the "battle for asia" mod, which btw is very strange.

I don't own Civ 4 yet but I think I might get it for Christmas so I'd like to download the patch now if I can and then just apply it on Christmas. I obviosly cannot use the in-game dowloader so I was wondering if anyone knows when it will be available for download at other places. Thanks!

Superthanks for the rapidshare download link :goodjob:

Update on the no text issue: by removing all custom XML files from the "My Documents" directory all the text display problems went away.

In the options menu, does anyone Else have a problem with the screen resolutions staying on default 1024+768.I changed it to 1280+1024 and it asks me do you want to save this setting I do,then I exit the game to come back later to see it is on default setting again. It does this every time very annoying.

I guess I must be retarted or something... the patch is NOT on the official civ4 website as of 12/23 11:33 AM and my autoupdate says there is a patch but fails to download it. Where can i get this bad boy.
