Played a two-city culture game on emperor today (random civ - drew Egypt) and won on t223, which seemed too early I think. Since we've included Great Works and gave Golden Ages a culture boost, I think it would be good to raise the cultural exponent to 2.4 (or maybe even 2.5). (Noted in the "slow science" thread as well.)

Hovering over the economy breakdown on the top panel, I noticed I was receiving "gold from Luxuries" - what is that referring to?

The Trade window sort of broke halfway through my game; it only showed 4/7 leaders and zero city states (the city state screen worked fine).

The Pentagon still says it gives a 33% discount for upgrading units in addition to granting March to all units. I don't think that is intended.

What era did you complete a culture victory in? I aim for it to be in the late industrial / early modern.

Egypt should not be getting Arabia's gold from luxuries. If that still happens (or the trade window problem) after the bugfixes in v152.12, report back.

I don't remember if the Pentagon's intended to have both bonuses. What do you think, should it have the upgrade benefit?

(Fixed?;))
Modern, but only because of the Enlightenment finisher, which I used to bulb Mass Media. I only had about half of Industrial teched (bio, steam, parts, elect, radio, telegraph). If I had ignored tech once I reached Archeology (bulbed with Oxford) I would have finished maybe 15-20 turns later and would have only had two or three Industrial techs (ie, if Piety and Enlightenment were exclusive like in vanilla).

Of course it's worth noting that the AI bug let me get nearly all the wonders - so I'll give another culture game a shot soon.

Regarding the Pentagon, it's been a *long* time since I played a domination game that went into the Modern era (so I might not be the best person to ask) but I'd say keep both effects in order to give it enough strength to keep it comparable with the peaceful modern wonders.

Pentagon's gotten both for a LONG time indeed. Wouldn't know if it's a vanilla thing or not.

I won a quick cultural game in 152.6 as well (under 240 turns, got I think every wonder I attempted), and I just finished another cultural game in 152.10 where the AI performed *much* better, snagging key wonders and slowing me down. This game I finished around turn 305.

But as I noted in my 152.6 thread there's a significant discrepancy between the culture that the game says you'll earn in a turn and the amount actually added to your total, to the tune of an extra 60-70%.

When you get a chance would you try with 152.10 or later, and when you get to the later game (say when you hit industrial or a bit before) watch to see if the "turns to policy" drops by two, and/or add up the expected culture from the tooltip and compare with how much you actually get.

Is it only culture, or other yields as well?

If you can, attach a savegame where the problem's occurring.

It may be other yields but if it is it's much less obvious.

A game (in 152.6) and mods folder is attached in one of my posts partway down the "v152.6" thread I created (should be in bugs subforum).
