Update 3

Sovie-Zemick's War

The most active theater in the world was in the Eastern Mediterranean where barbarians poured in from the northern territories, meeting resistance from the Sovie-Carthag Empire and there allies, Macedonia. Barbarians victories were fierce and numerious in the beginning of the war, able to easily crush outskirting territories of the Sovie-Carthag empire. Soon, however, the hordes were pinned in combat against the disciplines Psioli troops, who stood formation and quickly thrashed the barbarians.
One of the most interesting parts of the barbarians plans was to infultrate the enemy from the inside, however this plan was, in part, foiled due to one of their troops defecting, easily be able to bribed by the Sovie-Carthag Empire.
In an attempt to injure to seemingly relentless hordes that were quickly wearing down the front of Macedonian Psioli and Sovie-Carthag Spearmen, a large force was dispatched to route the empire by landing near Crimea. The met no resistance, however they herd news of the line in northern Macedonia breaking and the Zemicks were starting to raise the Macedonian capital, as such they fled back, letting the Zemicks retake the land with the nominal force stationed there. As such, over 400 Psioli troops were absent from the battle.
Although the line in the Sovie-Carthag empire was holding, they soon met a surprise. Hundreds of elite legions chopped through the spear men lines, even while completely surrounded by a particularly innovative tactic, they were able to hold off the enemy until they were routed by another barbarian horde. After the spearmen lines were literally decimated, the Macedonian and Sovie Generals gave the orders to call in the Calvary. These, yet again, pushed back the legions, but they needed to strategically pull out once they engaged the primary barbarian hordes.
All in all, it was a slight victory for the barbarians. There hordes were inexperienced in this type of conflict, and, as such, took heavy casualties. The psioli troops, relatively lightly armed ranged troops, were able to inflict heavy losses in there lines, but were ineffective against the legions, and, as such, fed back to Macedonia to fight of Barbarians that were raiding there capital.

Zemick Losses- 1,600 spear men, 150 legions
Macedonian Losses- 800 psioli, 200 spear men
Sovie Carthag losses- 800 spear men, 100 calvary

Malta Verse Carthage

Malta decided to colonize Balearic islands. The colony, which quickly dominated trade with Iberia, gave Carthage the pretense to attack Malta. The first conflict was outside Syracuse where a small fleet of 3 triremes, that were in the process of securing trade fleets, were attacked by a larger Carthaginian fleet of 6 triremes and 10 galleys. All 3 triremes were destroyed while a couple of galleys, who were transporting troops to invade Syracuse, were sunk. Carthaginian generals decided it was smart to not attempt to attack the city directly with there substancially weakened force, but to try and surround the city in siege. As such they landed 200 spear men who soon got contact from a small force that was dispatched from Malta. After a number of skirmishes the Carthaginians took hold of the area around Syracuse.
Despite this victory, Carthaginian ships were being crushed around the Mediterranean. Malta triremes outnumbered Carthaginian triremes over 2 to 1, but the ships were off defending various interests over the Mediterranean, as well as there troops. Crete, particularly, was taking a large number of troops and ships. Still, a number of decisive victories for the Malta people occurred. Particularly one battle outside of Malta itself. 20 fresh Carthaginian ships were attacking 7 Triremes and 21 Galleys. Despite the fact that odds were in Carthage favor, superior Maltian tactics won the battle.

Carthage Losses- 100 spear men, 12 triremes, 23 galleys
Maltian Losses- 240 spear men, 7 triremes, 19 galleys

Egypt

Continuing there evil piracy throughout the world, all Mediterranean nations suffered economically, while they prospered, particularly due to new trade deals with Carthage. However rapid expansion means the increase loss of control of outer areas. With little population centers (CITIES) out in the nation means that they are unable to enforce laws and collect taxes.

+2 ecos for Egypt, +12 galleys, +1 trireme

Malta

Although Malta did have an effective anti-piracy policy, for it to be fully effective to much planning was necessary for complete effeciency, and sometimes ships that decided to go out without there escorts were still attacked. Independent merchants were particularly injured, leading to loss of money. Also, much more importantly, war with Carthage. As such there plans of commercial dominance had to be post poned.

Commercial dominance cannot be finished until those two issues are sufficiently dealed with.

Note! The land part of the map is NOT updated, as there were slight changes as new orders came in that are not reflected here. If there is a difference between the maps, the world map is the right one.

Nice :) When can we expect to statness?

It doesn't seem most of my battle strategies came into play (The one based of Tuetonborg Forest and Canneae) but all in all, I'dd say I actually held my ground pretty well...

I haven't won but I've dented the Barbarian armies.

Stats will be updated latter.

Can I add my idea for my UU then?

Turkish Horse-Warriors : Men born in the saddle and taught the arts of war from birth. The Turkish Horse-Warriors are fast and possibly the best armed horsemen in the world. Every warrior carries a spear, a bow, a short sword and their primary weapon, the Battle Axe. Unlike most Cavalry of its time, the Turkish Horse-Warriors do not attack in tight formation. They come in as a swarm, enveloping the enemy, overwhelming them and ultimately leaving behind a mass of mangled limbs and corpses.

PS: I also thought that this turn I was gonna have the city of Tikal founded along the Turkish coast?

OOC: Tickle.. lol  :cough:

Yeah Yeah, I will add your stats... I will also add the city, soviet.

Thanks comrade... really nice update. I really like the map where it shows the control of the waters. the Black Sea is an Ottoman... I mean, Sovie-Carthan Lake.
