Chicago in 4.
EDIT: Gotta pick strategically here if I want a shot at this. Boston in 6.
Damn, I preferred your first pick. I had an awesome Tanya Harding joke about how the Blackhawks could sweep the Bruins.
Chicago in 7
Curse your strategic picking! Now *I* can't pick strategically anymore
Y'all, it's not like there's prize money or anything . . .
But honour is on the line! :O
Well, if you're gaming the system to try for a win instead of going with your actual prediction, I think honor is out the window at that point . . .
And that is the paradox of honour.
I'm comfortable with that . . .
To be fair, last round wasn't so much strategic betting as the one bet everyone agreed on (and turned out to have been wrong about).
Boston in 7.
Honestly, I really dont, know what to go with. I want Chi to win, buut at the same tiem, I have this nagging feeling Boston will pull it off, even though logic points at Chicago. I really don't know which to vote for.
At the end of the day, the fact that if Chicago wins, I lose anyway, also count for something .
Boston in 6. (Sorry JJP and Bowsling).
Chicago in 7.
So, am I counting wrong, or is it down to a battle of Quebec for the Thunderfall cup this year?
Idk, I'm too lazy to figure it out. Someone should post updated standings :nudge: :nudge:
I felt really good about my Boston pick right up until the game ended tonight. I was riding high on Rask after the Pittsburgh sweep but now I think my sporadic viewing has caught up to me . . .
As a Vancouver fan, I'm deeply apathetic about two solid teams who I hold a grudge against.
Well. I can't post official results, but looking at last round, I THINK these are the correct results:
Actual result: BOS 4, CHI 5
Ummmm : PIT 6, CHI 6 (4 points)
Subi: PIT 6, CHI 6 (4 points)
Iggy: PIT 6, CHI 7 (4 points)
JJP: PIT 7, CHI 7 (4 points)
Rub'rum: PIT 6, CHI 7 (4 points)
Supr49r: PIT 7, CHI 7 (4 points)
Shadowplay: PIT 6, LAK 6 (0 points)
Owen Glyndyr: PIT 7, CHI 6 (4 points)
Bowsling: PIT 6, CHI 6 (4 Points)
Loppan Torkel: BOS 6, LAK 6 (4 points)
Tonberry: PIT 6, CHI 6 (4 points)
(We should totally have a secondary trophy for people like Loppan who correctly predict a series where everyone else disagree with them.)
Thus if we add our R2 results:
Oda Nobunaga: 25+4 = 29 (Winner: PIT, Runner-Up: CHI)
Rub'rum: 24+4 = 28 (Winner: CHI, Runner-up: PIT)
Bowsling: 24+4 = 28 (Winner: MTL, Runner-up: CHI)
Lord Iggy: 23+4 = 27 (Winner: CHI, Runner-up: MTL)
Ummmm: 22+4 = 26 (Winner: PIT, Runner-up: CHI)
JJP: 22+4 = 26 (Winner: PIT, Runner-up: CHI)
Subi: 20+4 = 24 (Winner: PIT, Runner-up: CHI)
Loppan Torkel: 16+4 = 20 (Winner: PIT, Runner-up CHI)
Supr49er : 16+4 = 20 (Winner: CHI, Runner-up NYR)
Tonberry: 16+4 = 20 (Winner: CHI, Runner-up PIT)
Owen Glyndyr: 16+4 = 20 (Winner: PIT, Runner-up CHI)
Shadowplay: 16+0 = 16 (Winner: CHI, Runner-up NYR)
Adria: 15+0 = 15 (Winner: VAN, Runner-up PIT)
If Boston wins in 6, we will tie as far as I can tell.
Pretty sure not - we'd be tied for points this round, but we were 25-24 after R2 and 29-28 after this one, so wouldn't you need one more point than me this round to tie overall?
Maybe I missed one point you have the opportunity to get this round that I don't, but we both have Chicago as runner up, both have Boston as winners and both have game total at 6, and I' pretty sure that's all the points either of us could get this round.
