2015 NBA Playoffs

LeBron in his 5th straight Finals. If I'm not mistaken you have to go back to the 1960's Celtics to find players who have done that. He's Bill Russell good. Plus LeBron did it with 2 different teams and this year he didn't have the 2nd and 3rd best player on his team for significant portions of the playoffs. Utterly amazing.

GOAT.

But not Michael Jordan good. :mischief:

Yeah, by the end of his career, I think we'll be at that point.

Not sure what happens to this Cavs team this offseason, since they have so many free agents...but even if Love walks, with Irving and LeBron here, their championship window is going to be for several more years as long as nobody gets crippled.

I just hope the Hawks go out and get someone who can actually haul in rebounds. I knew that would be our undoing at some point, but I figured it would be against the Bulls, not the Cavs. Unfortunately while the Hawks have a ton of cap space they have to re-sign both DeMarre and Milsap.

Honestly I just want someone who isn't named Pero Antic. I've never seen someone who's 6'11" 260 play like that. He's like the white Erick Dampier. I remember in the Wizards series Gortat drove at him and his reaction was, instead of defending, to turn 180 degrees, throw his hands up and still pick up the foul. Also he takes so many random garbage 3s.

Apparently if Love walks and Irving is crippled they are still on track to be the top team in the east. That's effectively how they are going through the playoffs now.

stay classy Dwight

Isn't the night-club guy a good rebounder?

Not really, although his defense would have been nice to have. I was talking about someone who can really haul in a bunch of boards and let Horford play his natural position.

It is outright silly to sit in a press conference and pretend that you are firing a coach who is in the top five all time for winning percentage and has never failed to get his team into the playoffs because you are disappointed with his performance. The Bulls are looking more ridiculous by the minute. One has to wonder if, had they not lucked into Michael Jordan, that franchise would ever have amounted to anything at all.

that being said, thibs does a lot of things which are objectively bad, such as not knowing how to handle minutes and running players into the ground.

How do you win with a limited roster? Your good players are going to have to play a lot. The Clippers tried to get through the playoffs with five lumps stapled to the bench and proved it does not work, but being stuck with lumps that you can't put in the game isn't the coach's fault...be that Doc Rivers or Thibodeau.

the bulls teams thibs had weren't bad by any means. but there's no way a coach in the modern game can nor should push players to more than 40 minutes a game more often than not.

They weren't bad, but they weren't great, and they certainly weren't deep. I get the whole "less minutes for these guys" bit, but who do you give those minutes to? Especially on a team laboring under falsely high expectations of 'championship or bust,' like the Bulls operate under every season even when they outright suck.

It did amaze me how many minutes starters would play in games that were obviously well in hand. His rosters may not have been "bad" but I really think this year was the first one in a while that's been "good" after basically not having Rose for a couple seasons and having some absolutely crazy things some years like Luol Deng's spinal tap that killed his depth in the playoffs.

Also, as the GM, Doc Rivers has himself to blame for their bench.

Still, it is their job and they train the entire off-season to play. They are elite athletes... they should be ok.

Interesting note that when Cavs have 2 days between games they are undefeated.
I think several of the finals games have a couple of days between them. I wonder if Irving will be close to full health by the time it starts up in about a week.

Yeah, he's better.

Better all around player (triple double specialist), but not a better scorer, most likely still not in the same league as Jordan in the Team Leader category as well.

NBA Finals record of Air Jordan: 6 wins, 0 losses.
I like LeBron's play style better than Jordan's, he's more like Magic.

Going with Cavs, in 6 games.
