2019 Christmas Thread

Would it break your foot if you dropped it?

When my nieces were that age, I always gave them LEGOs, and it's always a hit (Duplo for your younger niece)

Lego FTW!!

I have allready managed and hidden all presents. They are not many, my wife's, my parents in law's and my mother's.

BTW, do you open presents the 25th morning or 24th before going bed?

My tradition is to open one present Christmas Eve, and everything else Christmas morning. I feel there's something magical about coming downstairs to presents :)

Oh, @Hygro, LOL Surprise is also really popular it seems (this year my 9-year old niece wants some LOL Surprise Winter Disco Bigger Surprise that costs like $70), and Hatchimals (my 6-year old niece is obsessed with them, I'm sending her some Colleggtables egg cartons) For my 8-year old niece, I'm sending her The Mandalorian LEGO set.

I asked because I have a weird mix.

My family follows basque tradition, this means Olentzero (1), we used to open them the Christmas Eve, however we dinner at my mother's house, we go back home past midnight. We are usually tired and go to bed.
My wife's family follows Spaniard tradition, this means Three Wise Men (2), in this tradition they open presents on 6th January.

We try to mix both traditions, my wife and I will open presents the 24th or the 25th, and we will give presents to our parents on 6th January

There's a Mandalorian Lego set?

Be still my rating heart.

OK, CHRISTMAS THREAD challenge. In-law family grab bag. Adults(old farts like me) and high school and up nieces. Range 20-25 dollars.
I drew the letter 'J' and I'm stumped. The only thing I came up with was a gag Jeti robe. My wife wasn't amused.
Any suggestions for a more appropriate gift would be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean by J? Like you have to buy something starting with that letter? I'm sorry can you please explain more, I don't know what this tradition is.

Yes, you have it, must start with the letter J. I figured when I said Jeti robe it would be self evident. I guess I should have been clearer.

Ok, that's one. Any others.

The morning of the 25th. We've accidentally opened presents early when people send us presents via mail but don't wrap the inner box(es) so when we unpack the shipping box to put the presents around the tree we end up unveiling everything. :(

You should get jet, the wasteland's favorite party drug.

Um, what age range are you shopping for? I am pretty sure they made an actual Jumanji board game.

I was thinking Jewelry since all nieces but the 20-25 limit just doesn't cut it and I'm not very good at inexpensive jewelry.
And the girls are in HS and College so I don't know about Jigsaw puzzles. I am out of my depth here

Jewelry can be easy - just set a price limit and find something you think is pretty. What do you find difficult about it?

I'm usually looking in the 1 or 2 grand range so the lower end stuff just looks cheap to me.

While your new picture makes that tempting, that list is reserved for my wife and my daughter.
Do you think a HS or college girl has enough jewelry to justify an organizer or would desire to have one. I like the concept.
