3.5 D&D Game

Er, my understanding is that there are still two unconscious ones on the ground, aren't there? I was planning to kill this last conscious one, and maybe one of the others and save the last one for interrogation, so I could disarm him and everything while he was still unconscious.

If that's not the case, and this is the last one alive, I'll try to grapple him at least long enough for Jaceus to ask him if he knows where Brox is, and get a general layout of the cave from him, best we can.

Oh, right, heh. Never mind. :crazyeye:

Everyone misses except for Arithil, who scores a shot for 7 hp.

Okay, if the last conscious Trog is still alive after Arithil's hit, Oskar'll swing at it again, (and again, and again . . . oh, the agonies of being first level ;)).

Finaly I score a hit. If there are any trogs alive I continue with strategy. If not I'll search the bodies while the last one is interigated

Whoops, have to give Jaceus a turn. J_D, what do you want to do?

I'll hit the remaining trog with my staff.

Jaceus misses, but Oskar manages to cleave the trog's head off.

Whew. Remind me, who's there? All the trogs are dead or unconscious, right?

Yes, decapitated with a handaxe! Oskar's a little stud, isn't he? ;)

Alright, I think we've got two unconscious Trogs left on the ground, and no one has any permanent way of restraining them. So while Oskar would really prefer not to, it looks like we're going to need to coup de grace one of them, and disarm the other, hold him down, wake him up and interrogate him. I think we need any info he's got on Brox, like if he's seen or heard anything about him at all and also the layout of the cave. I guess we could also ask them about the GP-eating kobolds from earlier, which are still freaking me out. Can anyone else think of anything we should ask them?

Also, is it possible to use Oskar's intimidate score while Jaceus questions him, even though Oskar doesn't speak Draconic? I figure Oskar could look mean and put a dagger to the Trog's throat while Jaceus asks questions, but maybe that's bending the rules, I don't know. Either way, once we're done questioning, I guess we'll have to kill the last one, too. That's just so wrong. :(

Let's also get an update on everyone's status so we can see if it's time to rest. Oskar's at 14HP (out of 15 total). He's used his rage for the day, but he's good without rest for now. How's everyone else doing health-wise, and Jaceus, how's your spells-per-day count looking?

Rest or no, we should search the corpses for goodies like y'all already said before we move on. I think our running treasure tally thus far is 16GP and a crossbow of indeterminate type unless I've missed something.

@CivCube: Do we need to keep track of what we're killing for XP purposes, or do you do that for us? It's been so long since I've done this, I can't remember.

Jaceus, how's your spells-per-day count looking?

I'm afraid I've got only 1 0-level spell left.

Well, we can probably go a little farther without spell support if everyone is okay on HP. Let's see what the Trog tells us before we decide.

That's a good idea. Maybe let's ask the Trog if he knows where did those tables come and what could live in the cave.

You find...a stick! It appears to have a hole bored in the side of it.

Umm: I'll keep track of the XP. At the end of the adventure I'll tally it up for everyone.

OK, so you manage to kill an unconscious trog. The other one was successfully disarmed and held down. He slowly comes to...and gives off a horrifying shriek! "Aaaaah! What do you want with me? If it's about the hunter that went north, I'll never tell!"

"What do you know about this cave? What lives here?"

Does the hole go all the way through the stick, or is it just bored down into it? Are there any wear patterns that might indicate that it's a lever, or attach to a machine of some sort?

EDIT: I can't believe it took me four and a half hours to think of this. JD, after Jaceus asks about the cave and what not, let's ask the Trog about the stick too. Before we kill him.

That seems just a wee bit cruel, but since we have no way to restrain him i guess we have to.

That probably wouldn't be strong enough to hold him. We could use straps from their armor (if any), but then we'd have the problem of what to do with him. If we just leave him here, something will come along and eat him anyway, so that's the same thing. We could take him back out and leave him at the mouth of the cave, which would be a little safer, but maybe not that much. We certainly can't bring him with us.

Actually, that brings up a good point. Assuming we had rope/manacles what would we do with prisoners? Are there "jails" for monsters? Do you sell them (seems like you may as well kill them if that's the case)? What's the procedure for this sort of thing?
