More Unique Components for Vox Populi

3rd and 4th Unique Components for VP - Official thread 88.10

If playing with EE mod salon gives 2 culture, +1 culture per 5 pop, +15% rate GW, GA and GM
sambadrome gives 4 culture, 2 GAP - NO 10% culture, no culture conversion no +33% GM rate

I thought salon was 1:c5culture: in 6:c5citizen:, that's what it says in the OP
The GW/GM/GA rates aren't mentioned in the OP

The removal of the +10% :c5culture: culture is intentional, as that is an Opera House ability

If these abilities have changed then the OP for EE should be updated. I'm happy to keep compatibility with these mods up to date, but not if I am tasked with constantly downloading and installing mods I don't use because they can't be arsed to maintain a documentation

But then sambadrome is much worse then salon, no additional culture per pop, no +15% rate for culture GP

Next version will have it. Has anyone had a chance to try it yet? I'm wondering if I need to boost it further, since it's such a rare occurrence with rather distinct opportunity costs if you choose to build it over a citadel or a voyage of Discovery.

I had to use a free Great Person for a Tersane. Maps I play on don't have early naval battles. So the production bonus to naval units was the most useful aspect of it.

I dont have a save, but after era change I got 2000000 "negative" unhappiness witjäh Byzantine Hippodrome, so my happiness went to perma 100%

For Japan, gagaku guild renders too much faith. It says small percentage but I'm getting 50000 faith upon musician birth

In regards to EE salon, since EE already uses "salon" can we use a different name for Frances unique salon?

Well, Salon is the French word, and has a very interesting history related to the UB, so I think it should be the other way around.

Or just call the EE one a Parlour

A good solution.

Didn't have time to test or polish this release. Please report bugs and I will try to push a new version out some time this week
Code:
v71:
- Compatibility:
    - Isibaya and Tersane now allow melee units to fall back to them after kills (credit to InkAxis)
    - Bullring now +1 culture/tourism to jungle/forest/pasture
    - Salon Tourism to Great Works reduced to +1
    - Pitz Court Tourism per Population reduced to 1 per 4
    - Greek Klepht now a Commando replacement (melee recon unit)
    - removed Mandekalu move to knight and Carolean move to Fusilier
        - these changes are now part of PDan's Civ Tweaks Mod, and can be added back there
- tweaked/modified:
    - Hippodrome no longer gives unhappiness on Era change; WLTKD reduced to 10 turns

After this change to Hippodrome, does Byz still require civ specific events to be enabled, or can I disable that now for good (if I'm not mistaken, they are the only civ that required the setting for proper functioning)?

instant tourism yields for Brazil’s pracinha still use events, and Sumer’s ziggurat

By civ specific events you mean the events like Hokath did or E&D, you just need to have events turned on, but you can have both “good” events and “bad” events turned off, effectively removing all random events.
