More Unique Components for Vox Populi

3rd and 4th Unique Components for VP - Official thread 88.10

No, a lot of stuff changed, especially the medieval boat stuff, so it will need a new version
Damn, I just started a Korea game with the newest version and got a start with gold AND jade monopolies within reach. Think I could save this map and wait for a 3/4UC update, then maybe reroll until I start at or near the same spot?

New version:
Code:
- Medieval and Classical Boat half moves in deep ocean
- Archer line changes with addition of Slinger
- Resource changes with addition of Rice and Maize
- Baochuan no longer unlocks early
- reverted unit model for Scythed Chariot

Been waiting for this to start a new game, can't play without it!

Also I would like to open a conversation about the Persian pairidaeza. It’s a bit lacking.

Maybe add GA points instead/in addition to the extra tourism? Or possibly increase the culture granted by starting Golden Ages? Does it already scale with era?

Or we could go a different direction and give it some kind of Artist synergy; maybe flat artist points, a small % bonus to artist generation, or an artist specialist slot? Could enhance a Persian culture game as well as give them an extra GA or two at critical moments.

Alternatively, what about taking a page from Civ VI's book and make it an improvement of some kind? Maybe a village replacement?

- reverted unit model for Scythed Chariot

hope this will make graphic glitch go away

Thank you for the update!!

idk if this is a common issue or not, or even if this is the right place to post about it, but regardless; Whenever I use the 4uc mod, sometime around the medieval era(it varies game to game) many of the textures start failing and freaking out. It is usually only for icons though, such as those for a unit, notifications, and in certain screens like the trade routes and great works screen. This only starts once I have been playing a game for a bit, the initial civ select screen and the early eras work fine. These issues do not happen when just using Vox Populi without 4uc. All the Vox Populi and 4uc elements are in the mods folder far as I am aware, and the EUI files are in the Civ V dlc folder. I have my civ v installation path on my C drive, specifically C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V with the mods folder in C:\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS. Any idea what could be causing it and/or potential fixes?

If you are trying to use 4UC and RED together you are going to have a bad time. You are hitting a memory constraint; the game can’t load that much art at once.

That would make sense, I didn't think of it at first cause the unit models still seemed ok, I'll give it a try without it

I'm not sure if I'm the only one with this problem, but the localization for the extra component for the vanilla civs is out of whack. It says TXT_ etc etc for all the extra components for the vanilla civs, from their names to their civilopedia entries. Is there any possible fix?

I don't have this problem. Maybe deleting cache / fresh download / reinstall helps (if it's not a mod conflict).

Have played a full visually flawless game without red. Slightly stinks cause I do like red, but it's a sacrifice I am willing to make for this mod. Thank you Dan, very cool

Rome: The Latifundium (unique tile improvement) can't be built on Rice and/or Maize. Don't recall now if that is base or 34uc. It's not base is it? Anyway. Can't be built on top of them.

// There had been an upgrade to v82 (I was still running v81). That might have fixed it. If so ignore this. If not then well ... Downloading it now.
// Had to restart the game cause the save didn't like the upgrade and kept crashing. I'll be back ...

Nevermind, my bad running an old version. It was fixed or included with v82.

I am having some trouble with Salon theming bonus. I should be getting 5GE points, +20%:c5greatperson:, +5 :c5culture: and +6:c5science: in Paris with the current setup. Instead I seem to be getting 5:c5culture:and 6:c5culture:/:tourism:.
This is with Hinin's Tweaks for VP, but as far as I can see, that does not modify salons.

Spoiler broken theming :

Other theming arrangements also have the same effect.
Spoiler No great musician points :

The 5:c5culture::tourism: is intentional. That is the base bonus of a museum.

You're looking in the wrong place for the bonuses. The :c5science: will not show up on the culture screen, but on the Salon in the building list on the city screen.

There is no clean place to show the Great People Points accumulate except in the GP bars in the top right.
