As for Narz's game;
I was surprised to see you play h3. Nh4 looks so logical getting the bishop for a knight not even having to worry about an open h-file to your castled king.
I would most likely have played 17. Nc6 getting a bishop vs. knight endgame. I don't see any permanent outposts for his knight so I would evaluate the position as better for white despite the d-pawn being on the wrong square.
I would probably have played 19. Kb1 rather than either c3 or Rhf1.
As for Sashie's game;
You played really well. You seemed to have an excellent position for the entire game. 21. Qe2 seemed to be slightly better developing the queen, connecting the rooks, with tempo on his rook and reserving the right to play b3 later if needed. (21. Rc1 is the computer move with a twist preventing Rxb2.) The only problem was the last move. Truly tragic.

Yeah, this was my original plan but it just seemed too drawish & I was stupidly played "hope chess" (hoping he'd overlook the threat & castle or something so I could win a pawn
).

Hey, you guys think we should use this thread to talk about our (completed) tourney games or the regular Share Your Games thread?
Anyway, while I'm here, some comments on my first game with Xyan..
Xyan gave me a pawn early on but looks like 8. ... Bd6 give it back after Bxp, pxB and d4 and white is better, if black doesn't take the bishop the game is about equal. Seems very clear to me now but I didn't see it at all during the game (fortunately neither did Xyan
). I was lulled into complacency & completely missed it. Instead of 8. ... Bd6 the comp recommends Nd3 (though it really thinks I should have just traded N for B right away to begin with).
Instead of 11 ... Nf6 the chess.com post-mortem analysis engine recommends Qh4 (to avoid the pin that Xyan saw that made me lose time).
For some reason the computer really didn't like 18. ... Rac8 prefered Rfc8.
It liked 19. Nf5 instead of Nh5 for Xyan.
on move 21 the comp recommended Rc1 for me which I totally didn't see. I really like that move.
on move 23 the comp thinks I should have taken on f2.
and I made a bunch of other inaccuracies towards the end but held on. I have a tendency to try to force things at the end & overlook basic captures & whatnot. Anyway, was an instructive game for myself & hopefully for Xyan.

You might want to check out our first game. Not knowing how good a player Sashie is, I was pretty careless as white, neglected development of my pieces and fooled around with my knights, hoping I could exploit some mistake of his. Recipe for disaster! Over-combined myself, lost a pawn and never got one single moment of relief after that. My castle was simply torn apart...
So in that second game I just struggled to keep my defenses up and by move 30 was desperate enough to try something like that.
"Biggest upset" of the tournament so far.
And thanks for the trophy, Sashie!
EDIT: That actually gives me a slim hope for tying with both Sashie and Narz for places 1-3 in our group. What would happen in such case?

I'm not sure actually, I think that's what the "tiebreak" # is for. Not quite sure how it works but I think it works like so : say you & I are each tied with 6 & Sashie is #1 points but say you've got 1 win and a loss against him & I've only got 1 draw & a loss then you advance because you win (against the top player) counts more than mine does. This only comes into effect is scores are tied & I'm not sure I even have it right. We might all advance.

AFAIK the tiebreak comes into effect. I'm not sure what type is used at chess.com, but the values shown in the tournament pairings should be decisive. If scores are tied, player with bigger tiebreak value is placed higher.
Of course I might be wrong, so please correct me if I am.
