4th Open Game preparado

Here are my losing saves :D I think it's winnable if you startover from the 1500 AD save as things are looking pretty good at that point (economy recovering etc.). It's just the inability to trade techs = no +4 fair trade bonus that killed me - I should have paid more attention to the diplo situation.

selling world maps, or giving away resources could give you the +4 fair trade, i think. I'm not sure though.

Summary:
---------------------

Binky123: focused on research and economy. Stopped expansion on some stage and run for SpaceRace. Thx to this decision, he finished his game faster. Also Binky123 accelerated GP's production. From 1700AD to 1860AD, Binky123 generated 9 GP's, when Giaur only 4.

Giaur: focused on production. Started workshiping countryside, cause he felt victory is near. His cities are not so big as Binky's and not all tiles are worked. Giaur slightly improved military skills in comparision to his previous game.

Emporer would give me a chance of victory but immortal would be better for more experienced players to show how it's done. So you choose.

selling world maps, or giving away resources could give you the +4 fair trade, i think. I'm not sure though.
Giving world map to a player you haven't met from the other continent seems to give +4 immediately afaik. Not sure about resources, you get "years you've supplied us with resources" bonus, don't know if it counts for fair and forthright trade relations.

As for the new game my vote goes to immortal.

it depends how tough the start is for me. If we have low commerce/no happiness resource pre-calendar/far away AI, immortal would be too hard for me.

But even if it's too hard, I'd still like to play it :)

Good chance it´s too hard for me too but i think the way to learn the game to perfection is going for challenges like this.Ultimately I´d hope to combine the best ideas from the various games to a strategy that at least gives us chances on this sort of starts.

We will play Emperor map with Alexander, with few happiness resources.

The reason of this diff level is that personally I cannot see big difference between Emp and Imm.

I will generate the save soon and look forward for the new thread ...

there must be a difference, since I win on emperor and lose on immortal ;)

I feel the difference's in the details. AI's tech a bit faster, declare a bit sooner, have slightly more units, costs are probably somewhat higher for the human player on immortal too compared with emperor. Small things but they add up to a game that's a lot thougher. If you war early then you negate some of this extra advantages the AI's have but if you're intent on playing peaceful or Ai's are far away it's really harder.

Of course i will play the emperor game. I think it must be doable on this level without (self built) cottages and it will still be useful to see how others cope.
