There's only a few of units I was able to successfully convert from A&A, all of them being carriers. This comes from two facts:
1) The only sufficiently detailed units in game are the ships (unlike Civ, the things there are more in scale, so infantry is much less detailed than tanks, and ships gain the most spotlight time).
2) Carriers don't really need much animating. So I was happy with taking a carrier model, and strapping it to some currently made unit (I actually used Graf Zepellin and Ark Royal available here on CFC as "donors", by GeneralMatt and TheCoyote respectively, but there isn't anything really left from original units).
They also lack stuff like damage states and other cool shader features, so if anyone is up to the task of adding those, I'd be delighted. All models are surprisingly low-poly for the level of detail.
German carrier looks somewhat like Graf Zepellin, although I don't think it's very accurate. British one does a good impression of Ark Royal. American is either Lexington-class or Yorktown-class. Soviet one is obviously fantasy, since USSR had no carriers in WW2 period, but it looks quite like how one could picture oneself a Soviet carrier.
German and Soviet ones use destroyer animations, British and American use carrier animations.
The picture shows only German and British, sorry.
Anyway, download them here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=11912
