We will not demilitarize our borders! The Quebecois cavalry outnumbers ours sixfold. And quite frankly, we do not appreciate being told called "f**kers* by the Quebecois and ordered to "punish [our] pathetic barbaric slave [Canada]". How are we supposed to simply accept a trite forced apology when the Quebecois ambassador told us "No one f**ks with me and gets away with it"? We do not let backwards heathens talk to us that way, let alone, apparently civilized Western heads of state. The world gathers to deal with the Socialists in Brazil and you want us to simply ignore the deranged members of the same ideology just over our border? We think not!
If France is not a part of the solution, then obviously it is part of the problem! Therefore we are forced to recognize the newly formed Empire of Louisiana and urge all other American states to do the same!

While we understand and agree with your measures to deal with Brazil, issuing sucha declaration that will put us at odds with all socialist nations in the present and/or future whether they are democratically elected or not. Could very well put us at odds with nations who we have no issues with. We ask that you consider changing the declaration to simply include nations that have fallen in revolution, coup, or rigged ballots, and leave those that have willfully elected such parties to their own ends unless they threaten the stablity of a region or the very world.

We wish to reaffirm that we are still first and foremost a democratic republic, and not a socialist paradise in any sense. We are certainly instituting reforms, but it is not just the workers and farmers that will prosper, it is also the wealthy and foreign corporations. We do not redistribute wealth any more than pensions, nor did we nationalize every industry in Ecuador. The only ones we did nationalize were oil/gas and mining, and I think we can agree that a national system for these resources would be better than a largely divided private sector.
OOC: In other words, we are not a socialist nation, and as such, our nation's economic ties should not be cut off.
