A Brave New World Part 2

THis'd be the 24 hour warning, and BOY am I missing a LOT of orders. Fun times to come.

My orders have been sent via telegram STOP Should be arriving momentarily STOP Hope all orders can be understood STOP Looking forward to update STOP

OOC: Hark! You see
only the enemy you would.
When at hand is salvation
you cast it aside in starvation
unripe for the new and rotting of old.
Then when the traitor's cold
grip seizes you entirely,
look back and take note
for we will always have been there.
Watching as we were
with arms outstretched
ready to give a helping hand
would you take it.
But spit upon the hand that gives
which built Itself up
and find yourself alone
in [Boston].

OOC: Be not offended:
I speak not as in absolute fear of you.
I think our country sinks beneath the yoke;
It weeps, it bleeds; and each new day a gash
Is added to her wounds: I think, withal,
There would be hands uplifted in my right;
And here, from gracious [France], have I offer
Of goodly thousands; but, for all this,
When I shall tread upon the tyrant's head,
Or wear it on my sword, ye my poor country
Shall have more vices than it had before;
More suffer, and more sundry ways than ever,
By him that shall succeed.

OOC: and i thought those guys were allies... maybe this is just a smokescreen!

OOC: Of your doubts and fears
which doubtless are many, you take to your ear
every word and the subtext and see
that they who stand in our iron sights
are not those who stand aloof of us.
Nay, our ambition for Atlantis
and Her bounty is long dead
but ye of little faith, have it in us
for scarcely do ye better.
When looketh thou upon the stab
the traitorous stab, ah, treachery,
know that [France]
never once held the knife
except in her chest many a time.
Now by your judgment, look upon the hand
and see its grip is firm and strong
for by history it has never once been lifted
to strike you.

OOC: Evil french lies in poetry form!

There are 4 Hours left to get in orders, hurry it on up.

This Year in Hockey (1934)

With the outbreak of war in the former country of Canada, the Canadian League has halted its operations. Players and enthusiasts of the sport alike certainly hope that the war comes to a quick and relatively bloodless conclusion.

In addition to the cancellation of the Canadian League, many of the fit young players of each team have volunteered or been drafted into the armies of their respective regions. Our prayers go out to them.

However, the International Hockey Federation goes on, even in the absence of 1/3 of its league. Without the incumbent Montréal Habitants, the contest for the Champion's Cup was wide open for every team in the Métis and New French Leagues.

As expected, the New French Nationals and Winnipeg Manitous accelerated to early leads in their Leagues. However, while the Nationals were predictably dominant over their league, the Manitous faced tough competition in the Fleuve-Michif Rapides.

By the beginning of the new year, the New French Nationals had 10 wins in 13 games, compared to 4 wins for the Vancouver Ours, and 3 for the Bella Coola Loups-Garoux. By comparison, the Winnipeg Manitous only tenuously held a 8-7 lead over the Rapides, with the Baie-Tonnerre Club Sportif trailing with 5 wins.

The second half of the season, however, would see many dramatic developments...

You're just bound and determined to get Hockey the same recognition I give football, aren't you :p ?

Well no more revisions to orders will be accepted beyond this point. New orders are still allowed for those who havent sent anything in.

No, I'll keep on doing it even if you give it no attention- and fair enough, it's only playable in places with extended periods of frozen water, or places which have the commercial home products technology, who have refrigeration and thus could feasibly build arenas, if the idea struck them.

Keep dreaming, Iggy. Until it's possible to create ice anywhere, ice hockey isn't going to get much around the world. Although perhaps roller hockey or normal hockey could be played elsewhere.
I'm not trying to spread it, although that might happen.

China thinks this "Hockey" sport looks interesting. If only we had ice. :(
It would work in Manchuria.

And why is Montreal not participating?
Because you're at war, so it's virtually impossible to travel through Canada for you, and fit young Québecois would probably have joined the military. I'm imagining that once the war is complete, les Habitants could play a special series against the reigning champions to determine who gets imcumbent status.

Just so ya'll are aware this is proving to be an exceptionally LONG update. It'll take some time to complete. Total (not including movie reviews and sports) there are 44 different articles to write for this update, which is quite a bit. The update may be extended work until tomorrow morning, but hopefully it will be done tonight.
