A Brave New World Part 3

The point we were making is that since Pennsylvania has traded one good dictator for Boston and Virginia cares for Pennsylvania then maybe it would be best for the Pennsylvania you care for to just let the matter drop. Their people surprisingly seem very content with New England's occupation, and rather upset about the Virginian effort to liberate Pennsylvania.

Their people seem content? I guarantee if you ask the Pennsylvanians, the majority would want to remain independent from Boston. Sure, New England is treating those displaced by war well, but what happens once Pennsylvania is firmly under New Englander rule? And what of the thousands that are still fighting for their country's freedom?

Additionally, and less importantly, we think that perhaps it might be possible for New England to compensate Virginia's loss of an ally and internation status by supporting her in territorial aquisitions against evil (genocidal) regimes.

Virginia does not want territorial annexations. We want an independent and free Pennsylvania.

We're not sure if the Pennsylvanians would vote for freedom or for annexation by New England, but we're sure they would prefer annexation to a war between their two neighbors on their own land.

Are you now? Would New Hollanders agree to be annexed by, say, China just because they don't want to fight for their freedom on their own land?

Perhaps if New England promises to provide the Pennsylvanians with full voting rights within a year after cessations of hostilities? They would certainly form a powerful lobby for independence within the representative system of Boston.

What representative system in Boston? New England is ruled by a dictator. Voting rights are superfluous.

Conversely continued war will most likely merely push the Pennsylvanians further into the arms of their occupiers, regardless of Virginian charity and courage.
The salient fact is that continued warfare will destroy the infrastructure of Pennsylvania and render their standard of living dependent on either New England or Virginia's charity and either lead to the destruction of the New England Empire or Virginian Empire by force of arms or the further dissolution of the Virginian Empire through instability or all of the above.

I think you underestimate the resilience of the Pennsylvanians. Virginia remains confident that the Pennsylvanians will not give up their freedom and independence so quickly.

South Africa warns its esteemed ally Pancasilla that it should focus its conquest on one planet at a time.

After all, it still has the dangerous ice-caps to vanquish.

Wait, you're allied with Pancasila?

I hope it's not too late to change my orders...

We condemn the evil Pancasilans and reject any open alliance completely.

Never knew that the cool kids were the mad ones...

Well maybe things have changed since the time I was a kid, but the cool kid was always the one who brought a dead cat to school or set fire to the principles car or gave the nerdy kid a concussion during dodge ball in gym class.

And take a nice infraction or ban in all probability too.

I'd delete that quick man.

Not if nobody tells nobody, y'know what I'm sayin'?

Eh, maybe you don't go around talkin' about this, bombshoo, y'know what I'm sayin'? It ain't an issue if nobody cares. As for Birdjaguar, well, you leave him to me. Let's just say I'mma make 'im an offer 'e can't refuse.
