those are some nice looking statistics right there, hope its not too much maintanence...

Thats the thing, and is the reason i have altered the rules some to make it harder to recruit 50,000 men and disburse them, lol. The rules also make it harder to make more armies, so I wont be bothered with redoing them all the time.

Also, be warned before you join, if the armies become too combersome to manage, then I will just go to regular NES rules regarding armies.

Now all we need is for this NES to start...

Christendom of Arabia
Monarchy
Capital: Mecca
Ruler/Player: ?
Economy: Stable: 5 (-3 Upkeep) (+2 Trade) [4]
Production: 2
Military: (-3 Upkeep)
Army-
[1] Army of God: 15,000 Infantry, 10,000 Camel Riders, 10 Canons
[2] Army of Christ: 10,000 Infantry, 10,000 Cavalry, 10 Canons

Navy-
Education: 3
Moral: Okay
Infrastructure: 4
Religion: Roman Catholic (80%), Muslim (10%, Illegal), Other (10%)
Projects:
Background: Arabia was the heartland and birthplace of Islam centuries ago. But around 1200 A.D., the Romans, invaded in order to create a frontier. While the Roman state was in a good deal of decline during this age, they were able to conquer Arabia and hold it long enough to do serious damage to its culture. The religion of Islam was banned from the country, and thousands of Muslims were forced from their homes, into desert concentration camps or northwards into the rest of the Muslim world. The rest then converted to Christianity, and the country was granted independence in 1600. Since then, it has become a very religious country; many Christians come here on pilgrimages to gasp at the grandeur of Christian architecture and culture. It has also become a country of great tension, as Muslims demand it be returned to Islam so that they may make their required pilgrimage to Mecca.

Sultanate of Iraq
Sultanate

Economy: Depression: 2 (-3 Upkeep) (+2 Trade) [1]

Infrastructure: 3
Religion: Islam (98%), Other (2%)
Projects: Oil to Energy Research [0/6, 1/12 turns]
Background: Iraq was formed by the Turks who invaded the region and took over the Arabs. During the 1st War for Byzantium, the Arabs revolted and the Turks quickly granted them independence, in fear of tying up their war. Now, the Iraqis are part of a war-ravaged (from when the Turks invaded) depression of a country. However, with the beginning of industrialization, a comprehensive research program, begun by the Sultan himself, is aimed to turn the black substance found in abundance in the desert to an energy source.

Kingdom of Morocco
Monarchy
Capital: Rabat
Ruler/Player: ?
Economy: Stable: 5 (-3 Upkeep) (+3 Trade) [5]
Production: 2
Military: (-3 Upkeep)
Army-

Infrastructure: 4
Religion: Roman Catholic (80%), Jewish (15%), Other (5%)
Projects:
Background: Morocco fought for its independence from Rome and beat the two legions sent against it. Afterwards, Morocco kept most of the Roman traditions, including laws, religion, and they even mirrored the legion concept. Morocco now is a nation of great coastal cities, but the monarchy is traditionally strict, and just a few miles inland poverty is rampant.

Protectorate of Dubai
Republic
Capital: Dubai
Ruler/Player: At The Discretion of Arabia
Economy: Depression: 1 (-0 Upkeep) (+0 Trade) (+1 Arabian Aid) [2]
Production: 1
Military:
Army-
None, Protection is the Responsibility of Arabia
Navy-
Education: 3
Moral: Bad
Infrastructure: 4
Religion: Islam (54%), Roman Catholic (36%), Jewish (5%), Other (5%)
Projects:
Background: Dubai used to be a province of Arabia, but after the Romans left, the Christian majority in Arabia decided to ban Islam, and created this small country out of a dry, desolate peninsula for the Muslims. Today, Dubai is one of the most poorest and crowded nations in the world, and is only operational because of Arabian contributions. The country is a republic, though, and every election more and more seats are given up to the Muslim Liberation Party, a party dedicated to regaining Arabia back from the Christians. Arabian intervention may be needed in order to prevent an MLP majority.

Kurdistan is a beacon of equality; the people within the country are the most tolerant of each other then any other country in the world. The economy is rather weak yet it is stable. Kurdistan has a record at remaining neutral in conflicts.

Tehran, the center of production and culture, is a modern industrialized city, rivaling those in the East and Western Roman Empires. The Sultan traditionally yields power to a council representing the people through general elections, but it is to the discretion of the Sultan. The country trades frequently with India and the Middle East, which is the reason for most of its wealth.

I noticed a lot of people filling out templates for nations at the beginning of this thread, and those apparently then being scrapped in favor of a mod-created timeline.... so my question is, can I still join? And do I need to fill out a template?

Still wish I hadn't had to quit stJNES8 all that while back.... Romanesque Classical Mali was good times.
