You don't need to be religious to pray. In fact, strong hopes and thoughts may just be your way of praying.
Anyway, yes, we do have a no political (Commies and Nazi reference) and a no religion debate zone here.
We can all hope he sure is okay. While the very best is still something you would not wish on a person, it is still far better to hope for the best possibility. If he can make it through all the things before, let's hope and pray he can fight his way out now.
