A Mughals Game

You are definitely right. I underestimated the English TC troops, so I need to load a previous save and start again from there. On the other hand, I'm quite ready for the culture goal.

Hope you like stacking Cathedrals on top of one another. :groucho:

And yeah, I definitely fall into the camp of "no longer having time to play" so your strategy guides are keeping me warmed up till the time I can actually play myself.

Multiple Cathedrals in Delhi and Azimabad(major centers for artists) do a very good job on :culture: output.

Glad you like my games.:king:

In chronological order? Good luck on your playthrough!

Thank you.

Multiple Cathedrals in Delhi and Azimabad(major centers for artists) do a very good job on :culture: output.

Multiple cathedrals and the opera house. Although I din't use them myself, it is a better strategy.

Thank you Fresol for your work for us, it is necessary ... in the past, when I came across RFC for the first time, I used to watch videos of gameplay on YouTube, for example, guy named FunkyHonkyCDXX did such. While I consider UHVs in DoC harder than in vanilla RFC, such instructional stories, like you do, are very useful

Take Bhopal straight without bombardment. Bombardment demolishes buildings inside the city, doesn't it?

I think it is a myth.

What I never see in Indy cities, though, are Libraries. Indies do not build them?

Also why does Gulbadan look like a man? I think Leo did pretty cool job with female great people names and looks.

I believe all culture-related buildings are lost when the city changes hands, with the exception of buildings like terrace, mausoleum, which are replacements for non-cultural buildings.

The game is finished, at the cost of staying up late and an angry wife. I'll finish the guide within next week.

Silly adults and your spousal disputes. :D

Kalanpur was settled the previous turn. It gets to work the fish, pearl, cow, spices and iron.

By the time we take Ayutthaya, Khmer has already been killed by Thailand. That's fine, we are going to rule Indochina all by ourselves.

Take a look inside the city.

Doing a little bit of trade every now and then. I'm willing to sell resources at a price of 5:gold: per turn minimum.

We have captured Hanoi.

It provides pig and crab, boosting our :health:. Obviously people don't care about "halal" in this parallel game world. Hanoi is both food-rich and productive.

With Thailand collapsed, we take independent Panduranga next. The city is mediocre, but it still contributes to our empire in many ways.

For example, the clams.

It seems Great Artists can immediately stop the riots in a city.

With minor disfunctions such as the rainforest banana tile. That's our first Great Artist consumed. I'd say it's not a bad idea to make use of the GAs early, as long as you benefit from it and are confident of the city's safety throughout the game.

We are meeting the Koreans for the first time.

Take a look at our historical goals. We still have plenty of time, everything's going on well.

Directing all our espionage points against China, we now have enough points to check their cities. They got a good amount of cash from a Great Merchant, but their research rate is only mediocre.

Meet Japan, they are quite advanced due to their UP.

Iran is doing rather poorly in contrast.

Here's a little bug that you often see in recent revisions. For example, China would cancel our old deal for unknown reasons, but agree to exactly the same terms nevertheless.

It's a bit annoying but doesn't do any harm.

Meeting with Spain.

One of the milestones, Wat Preah Pisnulok is finished in Azimabad. Aside from the +1 population boost to all cities, this great wonder enables Azimabad to hire a good amount of artists, therefore contributes to our 3rd historical goal greatly.

Secularism has done its job, we are immediately switching to Theocracy+Scholaticism for extra great people points.

We have met England. Spy on them to get information about their tech situation. I believe the TC event happens once they have Rifling+Economics. I'll be ready with grenadiers then.

Our second Great Person is ... a prophet.:twitch: We'll just let him sit there for a while. If we were to get another type of Great Person later, I would open up a Golden Age with them.

Oops, I think I posted wrong descriptions for the pictures earlier. These are the cancel-deal-and-agree-to-the-same-terms-immediately-after bug screenshots.

Yep.

We have met the French people.

This is Great! The Red Fort has been finished in Delhi. It's best to build the wonders and cathedrals in Delhi and Azimabad, where we hire mass artists. But we also need to take production factors into account, so that the wonders get finished soon enough.

Basically, all of our Great People come from either Delhi or Azimabad. Lahore can provide 1 more. So don't bother hiring artists in other cities, the Great People points would be wasted.

Wooo, a Great Artist from Delhi! This is our 3rd GP.

Free wins against barbarians help us clean out pirates.

Meeting Holy Rome.

Waaat? Our 4th GP is another prophet! I'll just settle them in Azimabad, go back to where you come from, prophets!

China' beelining Chemistry for some reason, so I decided to steal Military Science from them. Around this time, they are about to send spies to perform counter-espionage missions against us, so it's a bit risky to invest more on espionage points. We'll research Chemistry(for grenadiers and maybe Steel later) by ourselves.

As I pointed out earlier, 50000:culture: is really not that hard to achieve in the game, so after the 2nd historical goal gets(more or less) finished, we should focus on getting ready for the English Trading Company troops.

Our 5th GP, a Great Artist from Lahore.

We are the most cultured civilization in the world!

Here's a little bug that you often see in recent revisions. For example, China would cancel our old deal for unknown reasons, but agree to exactly the same terms nevertheless.

Once someone cancelled a deal but agreed to the exact same deal except they gave me even more stuff.

Tibet broke free from being a vassal of China a while ago. And I was to busy to send an army to invade their land. Now they offer peaceful vassalization and I'll take it.

The dynamic resource, the 1600 AD spices appears in a JUNGLE. Surely a bug? It's totally useless.

The Plague strikes! It's during our Golden Age so it hurts us double(not really)!

Great People points accumulate twice(+100% to base) as fast in Golden Ages so be sure to run enough specialists during GAs.

The city of Delhi during plague.
