And the Wiki would serve multiple purposes. It could have articles on NESers themselves, Story Indexes, Histories, Famous NESes.

I.E. I have some free time and i enjoy Symphony style stories. So i go to his Article and go to his story index. Or i'm like, WHAT HAPPENED IN ITNES, OH NOES. I go to the articles, and i can see details on both ITs, history, politics, players, all that jazz.

I see what you mean. Yes a NES-Wiki would be useful., Yes it would help people understand the game.

Who outside of the CFC community, hell, outside of the NES community, even cares about the game?

Why create a wiki about which the only people who care will be the ones writing it?

Also, if I understand correctly, the wiki will be used for ourselves. There will be articles on everything to do with NESing (at least as is humanly possible for such a small group). It will not only be useful for current NESers as a sort of database, but useful for new NESers who want to learn more about NESing.

Ok, let's post something substantial before this thread gets locked for spam.

We could start by creating an updated list of NESing categories. Keep in mind, a NES can fall into more than one category.

I. Story NES
1a. Pure Story NES
1b. Story-Based NES
1c. Mainstream, w/Story Bonuses

II. Board NES

III. Alternate History NES
3a. Alternate Earth NES (Ex: NES2)
3b. Alternate World NES (Ex: LINESII)

IV. F/Sci-Fi NES
4a. Fantasy NES (Ex: LINESI)
4b. Science Fiction NES (Ex: StDarNES)

Ok, feel free to add to this or disagree. We should also draft an accompanying definition, or take it from the wiki article/guide.

Theres also the "niche" NESes which give out story bonuses yet are more board game-oriented than usual. StateNES comes to mind, as does DNES.

And Panda, DNES strikes me as VERY story-oriented, at least the present one - definitely more than say NES2 VI, not sure about LINES II.

As for the idea of a NES Wiki, I've seen worse so if anybody here actually wants to do that, I wouldn't mind. I could help with actual brainstorming and information-gathering; alas I have zero experience of actually working with wikis, so I can't help you there.

I suggest that Gelion's guide be added there, amongst other things. Also someone should do an article on polar bears.

All of those except board NESes are story NESes. We should probably use the list given in the current entry in Wikipedia for types.
