Marathon speed:
Actually, it is supposed to be 1500 turns. I dropped to 1400 by accident. I fixed it in my new OS79 modmod.
But for now, for Afforess and others, Go to Marathon gamespeed entry, go down to the last turnincrement. Then change the turnincrement to 600. Then change Monthperincrement to 5. That's it. You have 1500 turns.
The other number you mentioned is for the one that I had to 2500 CE. Trust me, you don't want it. Because the tech researched was supposed to end at 2200 but you as a human player will end it way earlier. Then the rest of it would be for conquering the rest of the world. I scrapped it since I figured out how to modify Domination victory inside the Mastery victory.
I too have noticed this gold obsession. Reached 100BC in snail mode, and no AI even had writing yet(I had had it for hundreds of turns). Checked with worldbuilder, and none of the AI had many techs, with only one even having research above 5%(and that was a newly formed minor from barbarian civ).
Other than that though, its running smoothly, no crashes, and everything seems to be in its proper place![]()
How many civs are you playing with? It seems to do that when you go above 11 civs.I get about 16 FPS at the start of any game after Beta4.5. Before that, around 24 FPS. Any suggestions why is this happening?
Flexible difficulty: my favorite topic
I set my lowest level to 5 (prince) and that is fine, but I am still very fast among the first 20 %, so every 50 turns the stats are recalculated and +1 difficulty is added. so far so good. But is there a way to limit the maximum level you can reach in this... I mean nobody should be forced to play the rest of the game on deity... that is simply insane.
So my suggestion would be a modifier that limits this to whatever one prefers like I would not go over immortal.
What do you think?
I have seen this too in Beta4 and Beta5. Have you checked this, Afforress? Might be the key to slow AI teching.

Other then eternity changes, you need to alter the game speed xml in Afforess's required folder.
2. Got my first reproduce able crash. On every reload the game crashes with no error message of any kind, just flicks back to desktop. I need advice on how to investigate this, which logs to check etc.
Edit. After some more fiddling, (looking to see if ai just built somthing, somone that may be causing the crash) not real progress. Drove upto the unit so I could give my log files, see below.

I figured out that the icon means you can see the AI's demographics.That was a text key I knew about, see the OP. I don't know, BUG's documentation is out of date. I'd go nag them.
