Hello, I am a Chinese DOC player,China has about a thousand or more doc players,We are all doc loyal players.
But there are a lot of people feel that the use of English is very inconvenient,There is no sense of substitution,So...Can authors support double-byte compilation? We hope to have more Chinese doc players...Or we provide you with Chinese text,We would like to play to the Chinese version of the doc,But we will not modify anything other than tex....Our programmer's players seem to be busy recently ... can not find them...

Hope to get the author's reply

Thank you

I can try to help you as best I can, but I need the help of Chinese players who understand how the Chinese version of Civ4 works, because I do not know how it is implemented.

I think there already is a Chinese version of DoC (for an old version of DoC), if you can provide me with that version, including source code, it would help a lot.

I have no preference, various free file hosters allow files smaller than 1GB.

Yes but we have the opposite problem here, I really don't want to press any buttons on popup windows that I cannot read.

So far,I only see Realism Invictus and RFCA can enter double-byte text directly,Although I do not know how this is achieved,But hope this will help you.

Yes, a localized version could help recruite a great many more Chinese players, I believe. It's basically OK for us to play in English environment, but if all the information is provided in localized language, the players could act swifter and feel more comfortable. It won't cost much for the company but it's greatly rewarding.

I do not think we need a chinese version of executable to figure how to translate.
I think it is enough to look at those XML files with text.
For example this file:
Sid Meier's Civilization 4 Complete\Beyond the Sword\Assets\XML\Text\CIV4GameText_BTS_PatchText.xml

if you can post a chinese version of this file, we can read it and see if it works like european edition, with five european languages.

Sorry, I've completely lost track of this. I've now made a note in my backlog to give it a look. But given how occupied I currently am, don't expect results very soon.
