Uh EPs are frackin awesome.
When my turn started we were getting about 9 points per turn on each leader.
Now look at this:

We can see all but two of Boudica towns!
All research is known to us...those one turn trades are the best!

I had some galleon shuttle foulups during my set so troop transport was not super efficient.
I would love to see the canal get built once the chain irrigation to reddots corn is finished.
It would make our lives sooooo much easier.

Wang has a galleon headed towards Liq and Laq dot. It might be empty but lets assume it is not.
I have a crew there ready to finish off the barb town and plant that puppy immediately.

I was a little hesistant to attack with our macemen.
I had 63% odds to finish off that barb town 3 or 4 turns ago but I didn't want to risk it.

Worker crews are busy hooking up the dyes from "Town", the iron on the east coast and the newly popped gems...it needed a road.
Once that is finished I imagine alot of preparation for rails will be in order.
The three workers that finished our northern island were moved to hook up the dye. When they are finished with that and the fort they could go back to get those 2 island tiles off Bryan. I forgot about them...but the dye was more important anyways.

We are 7 turns from the Taj in Rostov and 2 turns away from the Kremlin.

I fell off the boat as far as city MM as I found a few tiles were being mismanaged by the governor.
How often do you check your MM during a set?

Take a look and :cry: for poor "town"
Without a way to hurry production its gonna be a long haul here.

Great turns mate.

A few things..

AP makes temples of its alignment give hammers as well. That and Angkor Wat making priest specs pass out an extra hammer, plus factoring in the UniSank for beakers and the SpiralMin for cash and well... that's a ton of booty from pushing religion.

Communism spams Spy Supermarkets, Demo Spams Spy Huts! :lol: Addictive little guys to hammer home early huh. Every turn you have those buildings up and running over the AI means EP they have to spend slider to get back.

About Micro Management. Early on, MM is important as times are tight on grabbing land and pulling in wonders and winning liberalism.That race to econ was fun, not to mention getting those 6 uni's done in a minimum of time, but to be honest, MM isn;t critical anymore.

Nice turns there sturick. And don't worry about the turn hogging. Turn hogging to accomplish objectives is encouraged! Liq and S.ilver have hogged turns for less :lol:.

Liq's correct about MM not being as important late game. Unless for some reason you want to time something (see Liq squeezing out the Uni's in front of Oxford and S.ilver squeezing out the Prophet and State Property on the same turn). With the huge amount of land, it becomes unrealistic to MM every town constantly. I usually just do a quick run through of the towns at the start of the turn to fix any questionable governor issues. This works with SGs because then towns will be checked every dozen turns or so.

Finally, have to say that that's quite a fine report there, worthy of the Boff-0 novel length reports :lol:

Went physics for no reason :smoke: seeing as at the end of my turn Liq realized lets just roll over effing Wang for researching electricity. Oh effing well!!!!! that means tech is Steel -> artillery and we rush his ass with AT crews and artillery or something hahaha silver is silly like that. Mass spies caught all game btw, not worth mentioning individually as we are next to Wang and it's business as usual for that flake.

That place has a whopping 11x forest + 2 more forests with spices. since NewNovo has spices at the least, we can forest preserve all of them! Going to nuke the roads the barbs built actually, and redo them over existing forests as this place screams National Park like a drunk girl scout looking for the campfire.

Vlad finished a settler so load it onto a boat and sent it over to pony poop.

Tver pops Cathy's "Infamy" just as the double farm chops come in so another worker in 2. Will push out a work boat for pony poop next.

Another settler shows up at Vlad (where are all these settlers coming from?) and send if on SE to grab dot Area! Running out of effing boats actuallt, jsut too many settlers coming in.

Boat is hanging around new free beer dot in order to shuffle the troops south to take out marble town then realize screw it a few turns later and run off to grab more settlers hehe.

Barbs popped another town in the south where silver punked one before haha. Knight in the south gets 10 exp taking out the barb town's first longbow and well is 8/10 strength... will promote combat three and get the job done in a moment.

Btw we are now at +53 ep's per turn on everyone and we have city visibility on a lot of people.

Silver is up tho so he can suck it up and call smoke on liq... p0.. The ForeverRex is officially over so silver can get to the hammer portion of the ack!

Seems only 8 towns were founded by last count hehe, no idea WTH Liq was thinking on city #5, something to to do with screen shots likely. Honestly too effing many towns to keep track of though and honestly no effing idea how many workers were spawned.

Oh and it appears nabbing physics wasn't such a bad idea Militarily! Give you a hint as to why Physics wasn't :smoke: militarily... Starts with 'A' :lol:

Petes culture is a bit on the ridiculous side...it pushes through the desert and all the way up to Pyongsang(shoulda been green dot).
Heck our border is right on elephantine!

So are we just gonna build a road right up to him so we can send our troops into battle?

Preflight check. Ok, well this game is dragging while it is clearly won, so we're going to see what we can do to remedy that problem. Which means rolling some people over while waiting on Domination.

Liq did a masterful REX-SPAM job on the new continent. Our territory spans the entire continent from the southern tip, all the way up until just before the northern tundra. And still a few more settlers on the way. Wang spammed a town here, but seeing as Wang is the first target, this is not a huge issue. We'll roll him over just fine.

So going to do a quick check of the cities. Since we own basically one and a half continents, it's no longer practical for me to list all the changes. Rest assured that heavy MM was applied to get us moving.

Suffice to say that the mainland towns are going to get ready to convert to mass military, while the new world towns are going to develop. However, we are going to develop them on a hammer economy basis (build stuff with hammers, and build research if we have nothing else to build) due to not having the time to mature cottages. Also these towns won't be able to help the war effort until flight anyways.

Switch techs from Physics to Steel. Rifles and Cannons will be the main force. We'll get back to Physics for an artillery run later.


Go and try begging, but only Ramesses bites. He gives us 200 gold.

Losing 152gpt is unsustainable, but we'll check back to it after we get Steel.

Fred is in WHEOOH, so interesting to see what will happen.

1700AD (360):

Wang jumps to Steam Power in 6.

Another annoying diplo victory vote pops up. Obviously we move to block.

With almost all mainland worker actions done until Rails, we get to work patching up unfinished road networks.

Rostov done its Customs House, get on a Rifle.

The barbs aren't going to make this easy.

Blocked easily. Fred is clearly shedding population (I guess when he lost Essen) as he's down to 73 votes.

We get a bunch of border pops this turn, yay.

More towns growing this turn as well, so get to the heavy MM to get the new continent on its feet faster.

Irk finished a Settler, who heads towards some other town who's name I can't remember. We're meeting up with a boat to found TankTimeRodeo. We start a forge at Irk.

1704AD (362):

Yay, lots of stuff is finishing this turn.

First of all, De Gaulle is the first one to Divine Right, LMAO. Usually the AI loves that crap. So Islam appears in one of his crap towns.

Meh Dot is now Saratov. We start a Granary.

Stupid Civs... Ok, so heading for the Civics Screen. It is 3 turns for one Civic, or 3 turns for two civics. WTH? I don't know either. So we hit both Emanci and Suffrage.

Out of Revolt. Alright, I'm going to stop here as we have a few options (and no beakers invested in stuff yet) for the next tech. It will basically define our military.

Keep in mind that Wang is headed for Railroad in 10.

1. Artillery. 11 turns. This gives us Artillery (duh), which is basically unstoppable with decent stack protection. It's a huge upgrade over cannons, as the only unit capable of flanking out these guys (and Mobile Arties) is the Gunship, which is very easily bounced by just about anything. This means we can move in and not have to worry about our enemies possibly getting Cavs or Cuirs to flank attack our seige units.

Also a large draw on Artillery is that they absolutely destroy Machine Guns, not because of collateral, but because they gain a +50% bonus against seige, and like all seige weapons, can get CR promos, while Machine Guns can't get CG. Dead Machine Guns.

A minor benefit is getting Anti-Tanks. These guys are sucky in that they are no stronger than rifles, but they do gain intercept chances, and well... Airships are annoying! More importantly, they can't be nuked by Grens.

2. Assembly Line. 13 turns. Infantry are the bread and butter of Industrial Age warfare, but they are essentially useless against machine guns unless they have artillery backup (or if they are upgraded from CR3 maces, which we have almost none because we haven't been fighting up until now).

We do win Factories though, which are key to empowering the new continent (as all tile improvements going up there are hammer based), and in general boosting production to even higher levels.

Pentagon is obviously a wonder that we want as well. Rostov has a probable engineer on the way for that, but knowing things, we will probably win an artist! :p

3. Railroad. 12 turns because I accidentally dumped the overflow beakers into it. Oops. Gets us Rails and moving towards the Flight/Industrialism pathway. Not immediately helpful as it doesn't let us build anything for attacking. However, it should be an immediate priority after we finish one of the above techs, as rails everywhere is more lovely production.

A key tech, just not one that will get us on military building immediately.



Since we have Physics already, Artillery is a logical choice, in that Artillery units have no counter until Tanks, and Artillery gives us the counter to Tanks anyways!

I have the tech dialed into Assembly Line, so please be sure to change it. I also did not MM the specs from SoL, so yeah...


If Petey is back and wants in, he can grab it. Otherwise, goblinmarine is up if his machine is up. If that falls through, DE is up.

I would say... Artillery? Or Railroad. Rifles are good for quite some time if everything they meet is pounded to dust by shells first.

my computer seems to be working better now... took a bit of uninstalling and killing stuff running in the background. vista loves background tasks like nothing else. but it seems to not crash anymore. so if petey's not around i can take a turn.
artillery looks like the best bet to get things taken care of. that is if we want to do it sooner rather than later (which it looks like we do)
 
Gobo, what are the base specs of your pc? Actually eff base specs (cpu speed is a farging joke now), how much memory does your pc have?

If you aren't running 2+ Gigs of system memory, Vista is total suckage hehe. Better off just dual booting to XP to play Civ4 to be honest if 2 or less GB of memory.


Artillery is win since Wang will have machine guns.

I haven't seen Petey back yet, so you should probably take the turn if you can goblin. Want to keep this game moving to the conclusion of rolling Civs over.

So looks like the basic plan includes lots and lots of artillery. The cities in the new world basically won't be able to contribute until we get flight to fly stuff back, but for now, make them build some up to date garrisons and a decent force to take down Wang's misplaced cities. By the way, we don't need any commerce improvements in the new world because they'll take too long to come into effect. We are going for pure hammer economy here.

Keep any CR maces we still have and try to get them to CR3 alive so we can having some city raiding infantry.
 
Have access to levees now yay!

Need to tack on levees to the main hammer pumps when their queues become available. Main exception would be Tver should should switch to levee now and push the jail after. Basically look at a town, if it's currently working 2 or more river tiles Town is going to work soon, levee beats forge though a forge should be right after still. Just stick with forges in the newest dots like magenta and pony poop btw.

Consider jails to be a core building after food+ and hammer+ builds are done btw. Oh and harbors in coastal towns hehe.

i have exactly 2 gigs of ram and no access to a copy of XP. if i did i'd be running xp.
i've turned off most of the services that i don't need but vista keeps undoing my settings.
and i was trying to run a calendar/planner on top of my wallpaper and it ate my processors and ram :(
