Actor Arnold Schracheneager was elected govorner today in the California re-call election. Despite the Actor's behavior toward women, he managed to pull off a 54% majority.

RECALL ARNOLD!!

In my opinion, despite being a fan of the Terminator series, I don't thin the Actor is fit to be govorner.

This whole election has turned California into a joke. We've "elected" 2 actors, both Republicans, to office in the last 40 years. We used to be one of the jewels of the USA. Now we're a joke.

The last thing California needs is another recall. If the media has not misled me, Arnold will have quite a battle with the California legislature. Traditionally, actors, wrestlers, and other such figures have not had much sucess with state legislatures during times like these.

Arnold's effect on the 2004 election in Cali is what I really think is the issue. Will a failure to take decisive popular action (all but impossible, many say) backfire on the GOP in 2004, or will a moderate Republican running things bring more people to the party, or at least make campaigning more difficult for Democrats, wasting more of the precious, precious money that they desperately need to have any chance?

Its the best thing that could have happened for the Republican Party. Its also the worst thing that could have happened for the Republican Party.

i agree, since they got a Republican govorner in a liberal stronghold, but he will hopefully turn into a mockery of the party.

I seriously can not believe this is happening. I thought the whole "Arnold for governor" thing was a joke. I have lost all faith in my home state. :( Maybe it's all a bad dream. Maybe I'll wake up right now...

it's the Valley's fault. whats strange is that they make less money then people on the coast, yet they are more conservative. usually its the poor who are liberal and the rich who are conservative.

no one cared about bill clinton molesting women, why would they care when arnold does it?

no we shouldn't recall arnold, at least give the man a chance. he's not even certified elected yet...only about 2million votes are in!

i fear for the safety of all topheavy females working in Sacramento. BTW, they impeached Clinton when he felt up Monica Luinsky consensually.

If the public perceives he is doing a good job in California I doubt he'll stop at the state level. From what his friends and trainers have said of his thirst for power and 'insatiable demand to be number one' I wouldn't be surprised if he took a stab at the federal elections.

"Arnold for President" Worthy of a  but so was his candidacy for an election he seems to have won.

Well, if a "real" politician failed to make California a jewel again, what's the harm in trying something new? How much worse could the state possibly get? And he was unarguably democratically elected.

Maybe if the porn star was elected instead. But at least then everyone would be paying attention to the state politics.

Last time I checked, Clinton served two full terms in office.

Yeah, but his foreign origins make any presidential bids void.

Great! One more thing to make the US a laughingstock. First of all I think the governer of California should AT LEAST be able to pronounce California. Hell I would've voted for the porn star over Arnie.

Btw- Ronald Regan was an actor & he was a good Pres so not all are bad, but Arnold.......... Come on!! I'm convinced the entire state of Cali is either on serious drugs or all that silicon went to their heads.

Because Arnold wasn't born in the U.S.A., he can't be elected President.

I don't think that Schwarzenegger should be recalled; but rather that we should put this sorry episode behind us. I doubt Arnold will be able to make effective changes to the budget anyway.

Hey, be fair; say 'most Californians' rather than 'the entire state'. We're not all crazy.

Ok, fair enough. How bout 55% of the population is crazy.:crazyeye:

impeached doesn't mean fired, it means that they ask the Senate weather he should be fired or not.

hooray arnie!
congratulations!

and it is a pity he can't run for president :( maybe they can make a constitutional amendment for him?
