Guys, I apologize if this has been covered before but Google couldn't help.

I'm hitting the 2gb memory limit in C2C with a Windows 7/64bit machine. I've heard there is something I can do in the command line to offer more memory.

I'm running the game through Steam so if it needs to be addressed differently upon launch, help would be much appreciated.

BTW amazing mod. Brought me back to my beloved Civ all over again, much to the chagrin of my wife. ;)

Question, shouldn't this already be standard? I'm not really familiar with this, and it makes me wonder about this

It's only standard on 64 bit machines. With 32 bit machines, the operating system only recognizes 3 gigabytes of RAM (1gb reserved for the OS itself) and so the game only utilizes 2 of it so the computer doesn't freak out. Fortunately computers don't freak out anymore with win 7 and later.

So, if I have a Win XP Pro 64 OS with 8 GB of ram, I should use this?

No... I said it's standard on 64 bit machines - so if you have a 64 bit machine, you don't need it since you already (or should already) have it by default.

I think the confusion came when you said Windows 7 or later. Any 64 bit OS won't need it (like mine with Vista64). In other words, the OP cannot use it. There is no 2GB limit on his machine unless he only has 2GB, in which case it won't work anyway. He would have to add more physcal memory.
