Preturn: We are doing quite well. France is the most advanced and has only 3 techs on us. She is apparently in Industrial Ages.
We are paying 10 in lux - we really need more lux. The Babylon incense looks especially delicious. But we are still weak compared to it.
Chicago is building harbor - why? We will not be using the coastal tiles at all. Switch to worker. It should keep doing this. Also reset the tiles to have more commerce == more happiness == clown to taxman.

(3)530AD: Just noticed Babylon has no saltpeter! I really want to do something about it.. China is down to one city.

IBT Japan destroys China. Bab builds JS Bach's. Japan cascades to Newton's. This is at least better than France gets it.

We capture Oxford without loss. The town is now size 1 but is buried by Japanese culture. Need to rush a temple asap and it then could steal saltpeter from Japan.
I don't know how far we should proceed. Babylon is still stronger militarily, but it agrees to talk now. Probably take Eridu the horses city and we then can sue for peace.

PP is due in 5 turns. I started libraries and universities in our core to prepare for self-research. Both Japan and France are in industrial Ages. We'll need some serious catch-up.
Next leader can choose to stop the aggression now. We won't get much more from the war. However, I suggest we don't make peace until all the resistance is ended.
EDIT: Another idea is to turn to England. Newcastle would be an easy target. London has Sun Tzu's which would also be nice to have. "The English force is about the same size as ours."

My goal was to just take a couple of cities. I didn't even think I could have captured 4 cities without seeing a SINGLE couter attack with just a dozen cavs.
I think our current focus should be building up infra in the core (libraries and universities) to catch up with France which is really big and now at peace, so I stopped building cavs. Others may have different idea though.
Both Babylon and England are hopelessly weak. Maybe we can use Bab's free tech.

pre-turn: taking a look at Babylon and England I made the decision not to go back to infrastructure but to go fully on the warpath and spend some of our booty. Miami rushes bank. New Orleans rushes courthouse. San Francisco rushes duct. Houston library to barracks. Baltimore library to barracks. Buffalo library to barracks. Miami bank to cav.
610: take Eridu lose 2 cav vs. three pikes and a Longbow.
620: rest troops. England and Babs make peace.
630: take Schip no losses vs. three pikes. Lose one cav vs. a knight in the open field. Cleanup 2 Knights and 2 Longbows in the open. This is going so well that I decide to try to just take out the Babylonians completely so that we can keep their cities from flipping. I don't think we have quite enough to do it ourselves fast enough and I was a bit worried that Japan might try to take advantage of us so I sign them up for 300gp. I think this is too good of an opportunity to pass up. Cavs vs. pikes is just too easy. Bab military is still strong but they don't offer any significant counter attacks.
640: Printing press comes in and we have the monopoly start Democracy at min (sorry I forgot we were to rush to democracy, I bumped it up to max science at the end of my turn and it is due in 8). PP,WM.490gp to France for Magnitism. PP.WM, 1180gp to Japan for TOG and we are in the modern age. France is up nationalism, music theory, economics and steam power. Japan is up music theory and economics. Buy ivory from Japan for 33gpt. Rest troops. France declares on Babylon.
650: Take Ellipi lose one cav. Eridu flips and we lose one MI in the flip. I have basically been moving all the troops down that I can scrounge up and not keeping more than 1 in the city except for resting between moving on. If they flip they get 2 spearman and we can take that quite easily. We are now average vs. the Babs.
660: Retake Eridu. Oh no the Babs execute a massive sea assault on our homeland consisting of a single MI. Lose 2 cavs to this @#$ MI and finally take him out with a musket.
670: rest troops. Large number of French cavs appear. Renew gem + 9gpt for horses with France. France starts suffrage.
680: moved troops into position for assault on Nineva.
690: Take Nineva with no losses and we now own J.S. Bachs.
700: rest, move troops.
Sorry for the somewhat sketchy write up, I'm at work and don't have the game in front of me. The basic story is the Babs are finished in a few turns. We hold most of their cities. The Japanese got one and the French got one and there are three left. At this point we might do well to just try to hold what we have. But in any case make sure you hold Nineva as it has Bach's. I have I think 3 Cavs in the city and 4 outside waiting to retake on a flip. The biggest concern is that we get flips and the French or Japanese retake. The Babs are down to 3 cities and the French and Japanese have a large number of Cavs in the area so it should only be a couple of more turns. If you're feeling lucky you might keep a couple of Cavs in position to snag one more city if one of their assaults doesn't quite make it. I think I left a settler on goto (sorry) it's headed for the front to fill in open space. There is one settler with musket cover already there for fill. I'm not sure what we do after this. England is average vs. us and we could probably take them out on our own however we are almost to democracy (8 turns). I don't see how we get suffrage as France has already started and we're two expensive techs away and our rep is trashed (how did that happen by the way, I tried to structure deals with China very carefully so that wouldn't happen. On my last turn the only deal we had was a straight gpt for iron and some separate gpt for tech). We will be in anarchy soon for the democracy switch and will have a huge front with the Japanese.
Anyway, good luck to the next player and I hope the flips hold off for a couple more turns.

This game obviously is going to well. The whole variant isn't very important anymore if we take out Babylon and England. Which I encourage to do by the way! We are doing such a good job I would push on. Kill the Babs and English
