Age of Imperialism

You're saying nothing, because monarchy and democracy are not mutually exclusive; including as the means of selecting a monarch.

Unless you're saying something else, but it's my duty to drill it into your head :p

We have been visited by the great Kathigitarkh JFD! What an honour!

(I actually am honoured. :D)

EDIT: Page 10... and still no civs released. What even is this thread.

You.. are drilling what I'm saying into my head?
(Also: I'm sick. I am the only kid at class who didnt miss one day. Not sure if im up to the challenge anymore though )

So I'm constantly crashing into a stupid text error in my Great Writers Collection - which was supposed to be done now, so I could continue on the Dervish State. Basically the XML document sometimes just stops working in-game, and instead of text the only things showing up are the tags (such as "TXT_KEY_GREAT_WORK_HAMM_MATRIX"). So far the only way of fixing the problem I've found is rewriting the entire document - which is something I want to avoid, seeing as I have 39 Great Work and Writer texts. Anyone know another way of fixing it?

Open a thread. I dont think that the people that can really help you(modding gurus) are visiting this one.

They state that none of the text is available in Language_en_US. ._. But that can't be the case, because I've made sure all text referenced is available in the mod, and that the file is properly loaded upon mod activation... I guess I'll just have to rewrite the entire file. Again.

OP updated with the new, slicker Dervish State design:

The Dervish State

Abdullah Hassan

The Horn Resistance
+1 :c5faith: Faith from Forts and Citadels and they provide :c5greatperson: Great Engineer points to the Capital upon construction, but may not be removed. Gain :c5greatperson: Great Writer points from killing land units. Mounted units earn special Promotions based on their level.

Maara-weyn
Available earlier than the Anti-aircraft gun it replaces, but has no combat bonus against aircraft, and does not intercept. Faster, but requires Horses. Can move after attacking, but receives a combat penalty (-33%) against cities. Receives a combat bonus (+15%) if stacked with a :c5greatperson: Great Writer. May be upgraded to from Cavalry.

Qalcad
Provides XP to newly trained units in the city based on the amount of Desert tiles in your territory (up to 15 XP), unlike the Military Base it replaces. Provides 1 :c5greatperson: Great Engineer point to the Capital.

That Maara-Weyn is... wat? That's gotta be one of the most oddball mod units I've seen yet.

Also damn if those ain't a little bit too many Great Person Points, I wonder if the design may be a bit too busy, the UA could potentially work against itself...
I wonder if it'd be possible to have Forts instantly connect the resources they are built over as if they were Great Person improvements.

It replaces the Anti-aircraft gun to reference the Dervish defeat, which was caused by British Aircraft. It's supposed to be a Modern era Mounted unit, to fit with the time period of the State.

As for the Great Person points, I can change that.

Slight redesign for Hoop Thrower:

I am happy to hear the positive feedback! :D This might be one of my favourite designs yet, I'd highly like to play this one at some point, what with it fitting my playstyle perfectly (Tourism and defence). (Though I do have a couple of interesting fictional ones I want to make in the future...)

That design looks really interesting. And the Establish Trade Hegemony decision is brilliant.
Have you done any of the lua yet?

I only think you should make the UA more powerful(i am mr. Criticism). Except that, perfectly balanced.
(But i mean perfectly. Removing something will make it too weak. :shifty:)
