QD saluting is not encouraged unless one wants the snipers to notice...
Know why marine officers have gold braid on top of their dress covers? To prevent the enlisted marines from mistaking them from naval officers and shooting them in combat :lol:
 
do you need another player, since one slot is open? Rat01 just finsihed and will start only after xmas. so I wouldn't mind joining

errr, ok go for start 2, looks like celtic land. they didn't live in the desert, did they?
 
i like #2 as well. forest has game, right? (can't tell with those screwy graphics :lol: ) anyways, if it does, at least we get to +4 fpt by chopping and irrigating it. #3 is too shield poor and can only get to +3fpt max with what's showing. i have a feeling we'd get run over pretty quickly there.

i got time to start later tonight if you want :)
 
2's my favorite, you can see dyes in the fog, you're on fresh water, and you get game, plus some hills for production.

Just my opinion, but defiant seems like a bit much. I assume at Deity (I almost never play on Deity) that the AIs demand a lot from you, sounds almost like AWD to me (I'm also guessing something's gonna get razed at war [in defiant, a civ must be eliminated if they raze something IIRC]), which sounds kind of dangerous. Again this is just my opinion.

For the kings, I'd just let them sit around in the capital (wouldn't want barbs to destroy any), although scouting of the immediate area running away when they meet danger doesn't sound bad.
 
defiant on a small pangaea at deity? suicide :D
what about this rule:
we must go after their capital first since the kings would be there. does that sound feasible?
 
i'll play tonight. just let me know the additions. btw, capitol killing sounds like fun, but could be a bear @ pangea, diety with 7+ defenders in the capitol, not to mention all the terrain we must pass thru.

being celtic, we start with pottery and CB. i plan on not researching anything in the beginning, till we trade for Myst or Mas and we can research math or Poly. otherwise, we must trade like madmen because the tech pace will make us dizzy.

btw, what is the barb setting?

Capital killing is fine. Just don't expect all the kings to be there. I played about 40 turns on #3 this morning and there SOD's of king/warriors running around all over the place. Can we tweak the rule so that we must follow a direct line to the capital but it is okay to take out obstacles in our path?
 
the tweak about capitals should be fine, I forgot that in Deity the capital will be full of units, let's see what happens, so we shoudl try go for the capital but take what's on the way.
we do have 4 opponents? since its small, or 6?
