ALC 27: Churchill of England

Given that DMOC already promissed to post the rest of the set, there are not much of reasons to discuss anything until the rest of the set is posted. Atleast is how I see it.

I agree with Rolo, let's see part II before the discussion starts.

As far as calculus, I took a hell of alot of it to get a degree in Chemistry. As soon as I got a job in the field I never used it again and apparently have completely forgotten all of it as my eldest daughter observed when I peeked over her shoulder to check her homework. Now I don't know the difference between a differential or an integral.

Only 2 years out of undergrad studies and I already have zero clue how to break that up to take one, little yet 7 derivatives.

This is a good thing!

Thats it ... that confirms that the CFC members are a bunch of geeks!!! :D Who else would know anything about dX/dY .... :D
Seriously though dont remember the slightest bit of calculus ... never used it after my A levels since i went onto accounting / bus studies etc.

I was thinking of extorting the answer from MM after a war with him.

But the math software approach seems viable also.

So that is actually possible?? I am now officially afraid of calculus. Why do you even need to take it to the 7th derivative? lol
In theory it is not more complicated than taking 7 derivatives of a function :p But the function that our dear host posted will get increasingly nastier during the process ... so if you have a few days off feel free to do it by hand :D

All I can say is that it's a good thing you have the MAthematics tech. Perhaps if you are lucky you can pop out Isaac Newton to help you with your calculus!

As someone with a math degree, stuff like that is pretty pointless looking back. I hate teachers that give you gruesomely long problems that really aren't teaching you anything. You either know the method, or you don't, have to take seven derivatives of something is the same as one derivative, just more chances of a technical error. Still, I'd rather do those then a real analysis or linear algebra proof. Thats where the fun starts :( not

Well, it's "tomorrow" and I have finished the update. So I follow my word.

So what do you think my percent chance of winning this game is now?

I'd say with the help of the forum, pretty good. Almost at parity with tech lead after an expansion war can't be bad.

And there's no way in hell that function is going to differentiate to zero. ;) Nested stuff like x^x and the division will wreck you.

Looks good, trade with Togu for machinery, unless you plan to bulb Lib. NE is needed, although perhaps not in London; bureau is better suited for running cottages, not specs. Canterbury perhaps? It has the food for it.
