ALC Game #25: Celts/Boudica, Take 2

Yet another user posts here at Civ Fanatics for a first time because of the ALCs!

I second Boudica's riddance! She shall be known as the worst leader from now on!

I also second a sequel to the ALCs, no idea what it would be though (in terms of names, who's going to do it, when etc.)

Also, Boudicca will have to be forever known as the leader that killed the ALCs. Damn Boudicca...
Maybe I had better games to play with Boudicca, if ya know what I mean...

If someone else wants to carry on the ALCs, they should feel free. I rather like "the Rest of the ALCs (RoALC)" myself. Reminds me of "the Rest of Canada (RoC)", a term we use up here to refer to everywhere that isn't Quebec.

Anyone willing to volunteer? I think some expectations should be:

-lots of time (so we don't have to wait :p)
-good writing (no spelling or grammar mistakes!)
-commitment to the RoALC (don't quit after a game etc.)
-quality work like that of Sisuitil's (no succession games updates etc.)

Just wanted to join the chorus (and late as usual, I'm the fella who's always one word behind the rest) and say a big thank you to Sis, the ALC series has been brilliant and informative and has helped me tremendously in playing this game and getting hours of blood thirsty enjoyment.....errm, i mean hours of economic number crunching....no, its the diplomacy thats it...

Many thanks and enjoy the retirement!!

Sis, I discovered your ALC's by pure chance about a year ago. After having already grown bored of civ quite a while ago i decided to give it one more try and i found this series. I promptly read every single one, upped my difficulty level from noble to monarch instantly and have been hooked on the great game of civ 4 ever since. Thank you for revitalising my interest in this great game and entertaining me so much with you unique (and frequently hilarious) write-up style. You shall be sorely missed but it is clear that you have already helped many people live happier, more civful lives. You're probably sick of it but you deserve all the thanks you are getting.

Thanks for your kind words, everybody! Bobbyboy, I'm not sick of Civ or of the community, I simply wasn't getting much out of maintaining the series anymore. Also, there are so many wonderful mods around that I was starting to feel left out because of my commitment to keeping my Civ install and play pristine.

And, though this may shock some of you, I'm no all-leader challenger in my off-line games! I have my three favourite civs & leaders: Julius Caesar, Ramesses, and Elizabeth. Well over 90% of my games are played as one of those three. During my previous leaves of absence from the series, I was usually getting my ya-ya's out by playing as one of my beloved trifecta. Now I can do that all the time. And if I get sick of 'em, I still have other leaders to try.

Rest assured I will continue to participate here on the board. In fact, I've been doing that more lately now that I've "retired" since I no longer feel guilt about doing that but not posting an ALC update.

I would now respectfully suggest that we let this thread die. If you have any more ALC comments or compliments or queries, I would suggest taking them to the ALC bullpen thread.

And remember that this is not adieu, but rather, au revoir... ;)
