All the brain dead newbies...

Its great to have tons of new people come to the site(myself included now that i've stopped lurking) but does everyone need to post the same thread ideas ? there must be at least three threads about "what scenario will you make first?" and a dozen more about questions to be answered once someone plays the game. And while they're at it, they bump worthwhile threads to the third page or so.

If there is an intersesting topic that you want to keep up to date with, just use the forum options so that when anyone makes a new post you will be emailed and then you can use that link to find the thread.
I think that the Civ 3 forum has maybe become too big and needs to be split up into smaller ones like for Civ 2. This will probably happen when Civ 3 is released so thern you should hopefully have to contend with less threads.

Some may just be too lazy to find out if the topic they want to start as a new thread has already existed in the forum. It's human nature. And with so many new threads appearing, it's becoming too much of a headache too. So the whole problem feeds on itself.
I can remember the time when nothing happens in the Civ3 forum. Ah......

I say use search, and if you can't find anything post a new thread

I have just lurked around the Civ3 forum and yeah, I can hear all the shrilling screams with the imminent release of Civ3. Too many to read.
Maybe like Dell said, it's too big and needs to be broken down a little.

Like I said before I think TF will add about 5 new forums when Civ 3 is released but he is waiting for it to be released or else the only topics in the new forums will be 'What will your first game be like' etc. So everyone has to live with a load of junk threads until its released. Of course everyone may disappear once its been released so there will be no posts at all and H Tower can have all the forums to himself...

yeah, well, i have 2 say, im guilty of starting a new irrelivant thread... but that was when TF had disabled the 'search' function.

I agree though, all you newbies, before starting thread that may have been brought up, search first.

Hey, dont go newb bashin: they dont always know how to use the site (ahhh bless 'em) and they dont understand search and the like but just want an answer to a simple question: is that too much to ask really or are you going to condemn them to an eternity of suffering just because they are interested in what scenarios people want to make. ANyhow a thread on exactly the same topic as another one can have quite a different response depending on who posts first.

No I was never a newbie...You cannot prove anything and although your point is valid surely it doesn't take too long to read a page of titles to make sure no one else has already made the topic.

I would say I am a "newbie" and am no doubt guilty of this aforementioned crime. But reading thread titles is also very often a bit misleading... I try to keep up with stuff but will no doubt start up another thread that's already been covered someday...

This thread is on shaky ground now, and because of the recent group of people who seem to see spamming the forums as a joke or badge of honor, we (CFC Staff) are not going to be so leniet with spamming.

I would advise you take this warning to heart folks, cause there will be an end to it, and it is here.

Whatever point H Tower wished to make has been made, so this is his-tor-y.
