The PTW version has now been shelved.


Currnetly Working oN city view and buildings...... Gotta work with the hard coding.....
The numbers represent the age. Red is great wonders, Baby blue is city improvements, and White are racial buildings... (this is a mutant city) This picture has some color quality loss

Instructions: Unzip to your civ3PTW scenarios folder. THEN you must go into the Pentagenesis 0v1/art folder and move; worker drone, worker, WarRAV, War RAV, Vacuum Fighter, Vacuum Bomber, Trans RAV, Techensai, and Strike Bomber into the units folder.... I goofed up with the Gamma zip.

WARNING: For a host of reasons these are only static flics..... the biggest being the intertwining of the INI's with trespect to sounds and sometimes even sharing animations..... it would have taken me an extra 4 hours just to re-write the inis, and because there is over 56 megs of unit animations and sounds. When the first beta version is released, It will have animated units for the entire first two ages.

ALSO: This is early stage. I only released this much because now there is enough infrastructure for people to get the feel and idea of the mod.... before it was hard for peopel to make suggestions when they never saw the movie, read the book, played the RPG... etc. This is a taste. Please be brutal..... I am especially unaware of cheesiness in the mod or any other imperfections that can be found. So tell me what you think about the play and balance, if it feels the five races have any personality, if you would consider playing more than once, or any other impressions. I know it is missing TONS of pizazz because most ;) of the units are not animated. (There is even an unused attack animation for the WarRAV).

IF: you have read this far... good..... the sniper and the WarRAV coplete units are in here, enjoy :P even though the WarRAV isnt usable until the third age..... Industrialization.... however I believe the sniper is in.

Most of this is built from scratch. If I didn't mention it in my credits, there is a 90% chance it is my artwork... with the exception of the GRav Armor, which is Piernicks, and a late addition, and

In the credits, and in my signature are the links to get the complete units, by me and by other artists such as Balou, Piernik, Blue-O, Kinboat and Level. Also in green lettering in my signature is a link to a long preview thread showcasing some of the graphics, and where you can find the complete slasher as well.

I honestly hope to have the first and second ages absolutely complete, with fully animated units and a complete menu of buildings, as well as city view buildings, as well as static leaderheads for 16 civs in a month or two.
 
Known Issues

I will reiterate this mini-version was only released cuz I could use some criticism, and because I said I'd release it on the 28th, but there is no way in hell I could've finished this massive project by now, even if I worked 12 hours a day on it since I started. especially with the perfectionist that runs through me.

1. The game will crash if you click on one of the governments in the civilopedia. It is the only crash I know of besides any crash related to ending the game via retirement, victory or defeat.

A HUGE list of things I still MUST to work on:

Anything related to the third and fourth ages. (except most units are finished) They are a complete mess, and not really part of the games layout, but just there because they are.
basically right now there is no way to win, and if you do the game will crash I'm pretty sure, same if you retire.

A good deal of the buildings..... I found there are alot if culturally hard coded buildings that didn't use it, which gives me more leeway in making race specific wonder, (I just found them tonight)
I am just learning these, so things are going slow, slow, slow.

A ton of the civilopedia entries, especially most of the technology entries..... It's hard to predict the future.....

The obelisks
The five colored obelisks are race specific luxury resources. I am not sure exactly what they are or mean..... the were supposed to be immigrant soul holding areas.... people tranfer their entire mind to a new palnet via neutinocom because it is much faster, and then enter a new body on the planet they were travelling to.... I was hoping to use these for race specific buildings and/or units, just don't know how yet.

The race specific strategic resources
These are rare, and realistically over the six months I've been working on this the story has metamorphisized. I was basically building it around the capabilities of the scenario editor, as I still am.... but now things are getting clearer to me exactly what is going on..... however protraying cyborg games being used to subvert nations or Human drugs being used to create happiness and dependance on the government is a little difficult. MY original intention was to make them required for most racial units, but then it would be hard to explain why they cannot be seen by other races, so basically all I could come up woth as they were illegal, and therefore concious efforts were made to be hid from other races.
 
this is destined to be one of the best mods ever for civ 3! the firaxis guys could certainly learn alot from you about making a good mods to be included in the next expanison (or civ 4).

Great Job, just finsh the units and polish the graphics up a bit (especially the cities on the map) and you'll have gotten my vote for the best mod ever!!!
 
I tried a small 5minute game just to see how it looked. Besides from the text file being pretty much screwed up, it looks really good.

BTW remember to uncheck the debug mode in the editor.

edit: It's Awsome but that text poblem needs to be fixed.

btw what version of PTW is this for.
 
I forgot to mention this is for version PTW 1.21f only.

Also... exactly what text problem are you having? Do you mean for the Civilopedia entries, or is things like the customize world screen messed up?

The cities were one of the first graphics I did, so they are some of the worst.... when I have time I will make them look alot better.
 
So this is for civ 3 not PTW because I have PTW v1.04

no its only for PTW, what i meant was that i dont have the new patch.

I got it to work right. I love it.

btw I do not no if this is a error but war rav upgrads to leader

EDIT:I think I found another error it says error pedialcons.txt
WON_SPLASH_BLBG_Penul_Colony not found. :confused:
 
I found another pedialcons.txt error it says #WON_SPLASH_BLDG_Oceana not found. I will keep you posted on any other errors I found.;)
 
thanks, I forgot to say, avoid building wonders cuz a lot of the splashes aren't linked correctly..... if you know how you'll probably have to edit the BIX and change the civilipedia entries in the editor to BLDG_Colossus for now, so it'll splash up collossus...

Sorry, when I released this I was right in the middle of working on the city improvements... (as I still am)

WarRAV goes to leader for now, because I haven't even made the OmegaRAV model yet, and leaders cannot be built, so it will not effect gameplay.

Thank for pointing these out though :)

I am working on the penal colony model right now.......

Gaia of Lights and Trilligene Map both are complete for now.

that's what i did.:D

btw You need to add some boats because the game I'm in right now I have to Transport 105 Blitz RAVs in a Aegis Cruiser that carrys 2 units. :crazyeye: but with some work this will be one of the best. :goodjob:
 
I plan to add many ships soon.... clones will have their racial units (and unique units) be ships and starships, due to their familial ties making great crews.
 
Between this and the fantasy mod, the non-historical mods are represented fantastically. It looks like this will become a true classic soon. I really hope you keep refining it. The background really seems developed and integrated into the game.

Plenty of bugs of course, but this is an alpha. :D
