About the American settlers, I was referring to the Mexican/Napoleonic Louisiana
Looks like Mexican Louisiana is a replacement for Texas and California in your time line.

I don't know what you're talking about.

To what nation do you refer to?

I can answer that :the one which routinely steals games? The one whose players seem to confuse football with handball?

The damn french!

New thread already? Wow, that was fast.

Greater Somalia:

I was just looking at that the other week when wondering how did Somalia get into this mess. Seems they picked a fight with the wrong nation back in the 70s, followed by Ethiopia's proxy wars in the 80s and things went south from there.

Some of you may remenber this map I made for the Altered Maps III.

So I decided to make one for Asia too.

You forgot the Republic of China, Somaliland, Northern Cyprus, Abkhazia and South Ossetia!

Otherwise, very :goodjob:

I only recognised countries listed by UN...

Huh... I just realised that my Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are mixed up...

taillesskangaru:

It baffles me why the countries still using Cyrillic haven't given up already...

aronnax:

Wow, very nice. How did you do it?

The cost is prohibitive. At the very least they should use both scripts to make themselves more attractive to foreigners.

They do that in Serbia (and are apparently planning a full switch to the Latin one, although I'm sure they've got bigger problems right now :p), but I agree, especially when it comes to the Balkan countries, I really don't see what they've got to lose from this. It's amazingly inefficient and doesn't really have any point. No alphabet is superior to another, but it's just pointless to be against such a huge majority if there's nothing to gain from that. Tradition/religion might play a part, although I doubt it.
