AM5- We Rule The Seas! (And all islands in between)

Well, since Meldor still hasn't answered, do you want me to take it? I'll wait if you guys want, but I can have it done tonight or tomorrow morning, depending on when you guys tell me what to do. :confused:

Ok, got it. I will have a report of my turns up either by midnight central time or by noon tomorrow.

Pre-Turn: We really do have a low quality piece of land here. Oh well. At least we can be pretty confident that nobody else has a great piece of land either.

2270 BC: Nothing

2230 BC: London Settler ----> Warrior
Nottingham Warrior ----> Worker
Warrior moves East to block incoming barb

2190 BC: Scout lost in jungles to unseen barb warrior
York Worker ----> Worker
Warrior defeated by barb warrior
Change Nottingham to warrior

2150 BC: Nothing

2110 BC: Discovered Writing. On to Map Making @ 10% (nothing better than 40 turns)

2070 BC: Notthingham Warrior ----> Worker

2030 BC: Hastings founded on one of only two remaining productive sites (before workers, that is).

1990 BC: Warrior defeats barb warrior
London Warrior ----> Settler

1950 BC: Nottingham Warrior ----> Worker
Worker starts irrigating towars London

1910 BC: Nothing

Well, there was very little I could do with the situation, so there is still a ways to go. We need lots and lots of workers to make the rest of this island inhabitable. Map Making is on the way, but not for a while, because we have no commerce at the moment. All in all, it's a wonderful situation. ;)

This is my first good look at our little rock. How did we end up on an island w/o any lux????!!!! :eek: There is not even a gook possibility of a sea-lane to another island either. :aargh:
London: looking good, growth and settler in 5.
York: warrior in 3 or prebuild a harbor...switch to granary due in 53, barracks in 33 but map in 36.
Nottingham: worker and growth in 2
York: switch from growth in 7 and warrior in 2 to growth in 5 and warrior in 4.

Wake scout to look out for barbs south on London and scan the horizon for a sail.
Wake warrior in York to cover the northern tip of island. Change to scout in 3 to take over duties.

IBT Defeat an attacking barb east of Nottingham

1870BC London riots :wallbash: no lux or temple, I have to remember that. Move roading worker to east side of forest to connect to Hastings. Move warrior to cover more territory by moving
south into trees and sees a barb to the west.

1830BC London will not grow any more with a clown, needs another MP. Nottingham worker-->granary. Kill 2 barbs.

1790BC York warrior-->barrack--harbor prebuild.

1750BC Hastings warrior-->worker

1725BC Kill another barb

1700BC Kill another barb

1675BC London settler-->warrior

1650BC Kill another barb

1625BC Hastings worker-->worker I have him building a roads before improving the land since we will need all the gold we can get once we find the other civs to catch up.

1600BC Hire scientist in Nottingham. Build Canterbury on edge of jungle next to 2nd cow north of the forest and start a warrior.

I have been moving the scattered units around to keep clearing the fog near our cities. The may be a barb camp somewhere on the peninsula south of Canterbury but I never went far enough to see it.
There is room for 2 fishing villages south of London and Nottingham. We can also add one on the river south of Hastings. My early vote will be for the Forbidden Palace in Canterbury. When the jungle is cleared, it will have several productive cities around it.

PreTurn- Ok, I switch the scientist in Nottingham to a citizen and make the science 20% and the Lux 20%. We need food and shield production more right now. I'm also thinking about a pre-build for the GL. WE NEED IT. I'm thinking about just popping out 1 more settlers and then Pyramids as a pre-build.

1. Barb horse poppes from the shadow, attacked it with warrior and LOST!! London; Warrior> Warrior.

2. ...
3. I attack the same horsey with new warrior and win. We find the camp and attack it, we win, but a newly build horsey is guarding it. We found another camp and will be attacked next turn.

4. Hastings; Worker> Temple. London; Warrior> Settler. We lose both warriors attacking!!!!!!!!! :mad: :mad:

5. We attack another barb camp up north and won! Lux. brought up to 40% to keep the peace. Nottingham; Granary> Settler. "The people love us".

6. A new barb camp abushes our scout up north. THIS MEANS WAR! Catenbury riots! Sorry bout that.

7. Catenbury; Warrior> Worker. We disperse the barb camp the gave us two casualties.

8. ...

9. ...

10. Nottingham; Settler> Settler. Lowered lux to 0%. London; Settler> Temple (GL Prebuild).

11. Nottingham goes into disorder! I hate the peeps of this city! Lux. to 20%. Catenbury; Worker> Temple. Koreans finish Collosuss.

12. ...

13. Barb arrives near Catenbury ajacent to ungared workers. I raise lux. to 30% and moved warrior from Cat. to garrison the workers. Settled Covenrty south of London.

14. Settled Warwick down near Coventry. We attack Horsemen and win. I needed to delay the Temple so that when Map Making is discovered, we can switch it to Great Lighthouse for the Pre-build, or are we going straight for the Lighthouse instead?? Brought lux. to 50% to keep the peace.

15. I attack a barb up near York. We have a pretty big island if we settle it right. We should cramp all the cities like ICS in the waste plains above London, just for the gold. We can probably fit in aout 7 cities. Thats all I have to say. Dont forget to switch the pre-builds and keep moveing the lux. slider for Nottingham, they are pumping out our settlers now.

@amirsan
I been very confused by your where is Meldor posts.
Didn't you see his quote above?

Since GingerbreadMan doesn't seem to be able to play at the moment, and Meldor is clearly gone (as LKendter points out :D ), should I take it?

Edit: Since GingerbreadMan hasn't responded for a couple of days, Meldor is gone, and nobody else has said anything for quite a while, I will just say, "I got it," and try to get things going again. :D

Well, here is my set of turns. They didn't go very well, as we were short warriors to defend us. There was nothing I could do on such short notice.

Pre-Turn: Switch Coventry to Barracks to pre-build galley (warrior not needed where it is located).

Warrior defeats attacking barb horseman (red-lined)

1150 BC: Nottingham settler ----> settler

1125 BC: Settler moving to next city site.
Workers working.

1100 BC: Ditto

1075 BC: Workers next to Hastings interrupted to retreat to city because of barb warrior/horseman pair.
Warrior/horseman cause major problems. Warrior pillages road. Horseman attacks and defeats Hastings warrior, killing two workers in meantime and destroying temple work. Hastings ----> Warrior. We are grossly undermanned right now.

1050 BC: Newcastle founded. Newcastle ----> Warrior
Warrior disperses barb encampment to north.
Remaining barb warrior pillages Hastings and kills a citizen.

1025 BC: Warrior defeats barb horseman to North.

1000 Bc: Hastings warrior ----> Warrior
Nottingham settler ----> Settler

975 BC: Workers working. Settler moving to next city site.

950 BC: Map Making discovered. Coventry ----> Galley
London ----> Lighthouse
Newcastle warrior ----> Warrior
Science to Mysticism. Not really sure where to go from where we are, so going to 40-turn Mysticism/Polytheism way. Next person can change, as it will only be a turn or so into Mysticism.
Warwick Warrior ----> Worker

925 BC: Hastings warrior ----> Warrior

There is a barb horseman approaching from the South. We need to get a few galleys going in case we need to go the "suicide galley" route in order to contact some other civs. At the moment, it would be best to hope that everybody else is equally isolated. We need to get our warrior garrison up until the barb threat is removed, as the loss of two workers, work on a temple, and a citizen poignantly remind us. Sorry for the disappointing turns.

Good luck with digging us out of the hole we are in, 6thGenTexan. :goodjob:
