"America's Dumbest Soldiers"

Does this site feature every coalition solidier killed in the War? I wonder this because the ID numbers for the URLs are so high.

Extermely bad taste.

So many condemnations.

I wonder how many people here go to these sicko humour sites in secret though...

I wonder why anyone would make a site like this. And where they have the photos and data from. It's not criticism or anything it's just stupid.

But isn't it striking, that it seems the majority of deaths is due to road accidents? I mean, in a situation like this you'd expect hostile fire or bombings to cause most deaths. But road accidents?

"Sicko humour" implies that it is funny. This one is not.

The fake videos of the pizza-delivery boy being run over by a car are funny. Jackass was funny, when it was new. But I doubt even a sick person can laugh about this one.

I browsed the site and saw that most of the death were sth like "drove over a landmine while driving a convey" thats not dumb, neither funny. this site is boring and unfunny...

I found this website just sick and wrong. I don't support the US on Iraq, but there is nothing funny about soldiers getting killed. The dead deserve respect whoever they are.

There's nothing funny about those deaths! All were accidents and not something which was due to anyone's stupidity or something. People should learn to be more considerate of other people's feelings. What would say, the wife or parents of one of these people feel if they saw their beloved fallen featured on that site?

Who made that website ?

Traceroute goes to Sweden.

Moderator Action: As you may have noticed a page back, someone else posted similar info, but it was removed, thus this information is removed as well.

Ok, the people on this site may have died in ways atypical for a soldier, but let me tell you, these are *no* Darwin Award winners. The "#1 dumbest soldier" died by drowning in a swimming pool. There is nothing even remotely dumb about that - at least in the way it's presented. There may be some details that make it really dumb, but if they don't tell us, then what's the point?! I looked at a few more, and virtually none of them that I looked at died because of some unusual risk they took, aware of the possible repercussions. Most of them seem completely accidental, even.

I like the Darwin Awards, but I don't see how anyone could think this tripe is funny or entertaining.

Well, I think the site is crass - I would be very upset if a relative or friend were in there, even if they did, through a stupid act, cause their own death.

If there was a point - which I might assume there is - perhaps to the absurd number of deaths attributed to non-combat.

I think it most likely a phenomonen of the technology bias and effort, thereby, to reduce combat casualties that sees such statistics.

Approximately 50% of ALL US deaths during the Vietnam war are officially attributed to accidents - one of the biggest being 'friendly' fire.

Take away the combat casualty/technology issue, and this would probably be very much smaller, if only because combat related deaths would be so high.

Wherever there is human there is stupid.

I figure it may best be summed like this:

Neither race nor sex *nor nationality* possess any monopoly or moral highground with regard to dishonesty, stupidty, or down-right jerkism.

I have an IQ around 150, give or take. School was a breeze - and thus, very boring. I also stuck my finger in a light socket because I wanted to know what it felt like... :goodjob:  well, now I know.

Good, maybe the site was e-burned to the cyber-ground.
