Amirsan3- Diety Newb Attempt- Join!!!!

I don't think there is a real rush, ControlFreak won't be able to play after me until... Monday?

I'd suggest he takes his time and makes his moves wisely.
I'll have plenty of time tomorrow to 'get it' and play.

2550BC-> take worker off of game, 13 turns to deforest and irrigate could be used
to make road to ivory for futre settler. turn science down to 10%.

(1) 2510BC- worker moved ne to road, settler moved back 1 space from barb, we have
a warrior due next turn to escort, warrior up n near china fortifies

Bah. We need more land. Next player, just keep going settler---->settler as much as possible. Land is ALL important. And make sure to expand towards China first, fill in backlands later.

Yes, it looks like we have alot of free space. Fill it in good, can someone make a dotmap?? I have no time too :(. We realy only need a warrior defence for our cities and spear defence for outer cities near China. We have alot of gold too, next leader check for some open trades with China. BTW, I wasn't in favor of barbs in the beggining, CF, they are just a waste of energy especcially sinse we have the Diety AI to worry about. :(

Preturn: Looks alright, see we have a stash of gold but our only trading partner is China, before I commit myself to buying at their rates, I want to at least find one more neighbor. I also see dyes a fair distance up there and I would like to grab them. It may be a distance away, but the extra luxury will come in very handy. I look at what we're researching and noticed it's writing... not mathematics. I think we should have skipped writing and went right after mathematics as soon as the oppurtunity opened up. However, we only have fifteen turns left on writing, so I'll finish that up and then try to shoot for math and play with the slider to see if we can get it a faster pace than forty turns.

(1) 1910 - Raise the lux to 20% to prevent disorder, settler do in one. bombay to archer (hopefully convert to spear to help escort settlers from horses).

(2) 1870 - Delhi - Settler -> Warrior, we'll kill our pop to fast if we don't build the warrior in between. Lux lowered.

We now have contact with Babylonians, Zulus, and Japaneese.
(IT) Japaneese finish oracle, cascade to pyramids and Babylonians to collosus.

(3) 1830 - I open the diplomacy screen and notice that everyone has the same techs and the two other ai for communications (Ottomans and Mongols). China offers the lowest price for writing and I buy Ottomans contact hoping they don't have writing yet. Bought for 166 gold and +3gpt. Nice, Ottomans do not have writing and 25 gold for the wheel and bronze working. I'd still like to get contact with the mongols to pickup mysticism, but they're an expanionist civ, so it's pretty likely they'll be flip flopping between techs. Science set to mathematics at 10%. We have horses in Delhi.

We are down IW, HBR, and mysticism to everyone but the Ottomans who lack HBR. Korean contact is also out there but to expensive to get and the Mongols as wel, hopefully we'll run into them soon.

(4) 1790 - Delhi - Warrior -> Settler. Move some units, settler is set to make third city, however there is a barb in the way. I fortify our warrior and send the settler back a square (he's on a road, will take same amount of time to get the square to build on). The barb south of Bombay is hassling our worker, I send the warrior that was just made for protection, archer there to take him out (hopefully) next turn.

(5) 1750 - Barb walks into a forest, too much of a risk for me to try and remove him with our one archer, instead, i fortify him across the river and keep our worker guarded.

(6) 1725 - Madras settled. Barbarian movements, still nothing I feel safe to attack them against.

Babylonians and Zulus just both acquired Map Making and philosophy while China has Philosophy and Japan has Map making. Time to get caught up.

WM and 1gpt to Zulus for Korean and Mongol Contact.
Trade Korea masonry for mysticism.
Trade Mongols Writing for HBR.
Trade HBR and Contact with the Koreans and Mongols to Ottomans for IW.
6gpt and 25 gold to China for Philosphy.
Philosophy sent to Ottomans for 56 Gold.
Traded WM to Babylon for 20 gold.
Tried to trade Philosophy to Japan for MM but no deal on that, will have to wait for a few more civs to have it.

So, we are behind MM to Zulu, Japan, and Babylonians.
We are up on Korea by IW and Philosophy.
We are up on Mongols by Philosophy.
We are tied with everyone else.
We net -2 gpt with mathematics at 1% (I doubt we'll get there before everyone else, but still worth a shot).

At the end, I changed from settler (who was due in two) to a spearmen, we're going to have horses now and I fear some of them will be coming from the south and we have quite a big gap between us and China. I just don't really want to put us at size two.

Trade Korea IW, WM, and 29 gold for MM.
We are now tied with everyone and up on the Mongols on map making and philosophy.
Trade WM to everyone else (should be done every turn).

(7) 1700 - Bombay - Archer -> Settler. Delhi - Spearmen -> Settler.
I moved our archer and then I noticed we have quite abit of land to our east, I saw a peak of land (perhaps an island, but I doubt it).

(8) 1675 - zzz

Will finish the last seven later tonight.

Wow. Good job. Nice brokering. I wonder why Korea is behind; it's scientific, after all.
[dance]We're caught up on tech in a Deity game!!![dance]
Once you post the save, I'll make a dotmap for ControlFreak when he gets back and we'll have lots of time to comment on it.

Wooooowww! Nice set of turns! Are u sure your a Diety Newb... hhmmmmmm??? I agree with Pickle Man :D ;), I mean
Tsukemono5 :D, Korea is always the tech leader in my games... anyways, were're ahead!!

I got a plan for the Future "Early Middle Ages" that we should be checking very early. Sinse our UU is a Knight replacement then we should start building at least 40 horsemen before us and the AI get there, and with my times playing Diety and loosing before I realy get past Feudualism, they got there pretty fast. So we should keep in our minds the timing before we or especially the AI get Chivalry. Dont forget that China is our "closest" neighbor and thier UU is the Rider, I would say that it is more powerful than the Elephant :(. So starting to build them first will help becuase I havent realy seen the AI upgrading realy so we'll be at an advantage ;). I've done this successfully as the Japanese in Emperor, though it cost 2400g to upgrade 30. So for us and 40 horsemen, we will need 3200g saved up! So working on this sooner to me is the best idea.

BTW, can someone make a dotmap???? :D

And here's the Updated Roster:

amirsan-
Takeo-
Belial- Just Played.
ControlFreak- Your Up!
Tsukemono5- On Deck!

CF got tommorrow to play but untill around 6:00pm (-5GMT) to confirm he got it unless he will be skipped. Knock'em dead CF. ;)

Alright, sorry folks, slightly busy tonight and tomorrow morning. I can finish the seven tomorrow night if you guys like and if I recall, CF won't be back until Monday.

Either or is fine for me and I wouldn't mind finishing what I started tomorrow night, but I don't want to lose interest in the game by it taking so long to progress.

Alright, I just got a cancel on one of the things I was going to do tonight. I'll finish the last seven right now.

(8) 1675 - I checked this again and noticed the mongols had a worker available. We're up map making on them and it'll only be a matter of time before they have it so I trade them map making for their worker and TM. I also realized Bombay grew to size 3 and it's going to need either more MP, a temple, or one less peasent. I decide to get a worker out of here to help hook up the gems. The worker I got from the mongols is going to hook up that ivory.

(9) 1650 - Ottomans, Zulus, and China all know mathematics. I switch our research to poly (again, I doubt we'll get it). We're going to want to pickup CoL so we can get republic and if that comes out on my turns, I'll see what I can do to pick it up.

(10) 1625 - Barb camp spotted and archer is sent to try and remove it.

(11) 1600 - Delhi - Settler -> Spearmen. Bombay - worker -> barracks. Madras - warroir -> warrior. Barbarian camp is taken by our archer.

(IT) Babylonians complete the pyramids, no cascade.

(12) 1575 - The archer we had out discovered furs not to far away, I'm going to send the settler spear pair we have there now (working the dot map out in my head, I'm sure Tsuk will make some sense of it). I don't think we'll reach those dyes, but the furs look like they'd be in second ring.

(13) 1550 - zzz

(14) 1525 - zzz, decided to change Madras to a barracks. CoL is also now available, next leader should put that as a high priority so we can start on republic.

(15) 15 - zzz
I didn't trade WMs this turn in case someone wants to try and work out a CoL deal (doubtful, but it's possible). The barracks may be vetoable, but I don't see a real need for temples quite yet, while the early barracks in our cores will help.

Save to follow.

The save

Sorry, due to lack of time I'll have the dotmap up tomorrow afternoon. Tell me which spot you're sending the pair and I'll make sense of it ;).

Alright, there is three lakes ne of Delhi, in the center one, north of it. It will be founded on a BG, but there is a ton of trees there which will be eventually be cut down. Placing it there results in no or very little overlap as well.

Setting up a screenie of where the next two cities should go (heh, my first dotmap) and it's only of two cities.

Dotmap

It's the link, also, how do you set it up so you don't have to click on the link?

Blue first and black second... also the black is on a river (if you right click on it, you'll see that it nets 1 gold compared to 0 gold as if it was not. Looks strange that way, yeah, but it is on the river.

i could use some help and comments on my city placement, cause im trying to get better at it. anyone that want to look at it, here it is-

dotmap

the city where the furs are located is on top of the furs, which gives you access to 3 grasslands and you would not have to hook up the furs or worry about them be pillaged.

I would try to snag in that extra iron source on the west side as well, and building it right ontop of those furs may not be a bad idea after all.

Also, we still have a lot of land on our east, that's what I had the warrior there for (on the mountain, he's fortified because a barb was there). He should go check out that area and it might be a good location for FP (long ways down the road, but still a good idea of where it should go wouldn't hurt.

Edit: Also the archer is down there because I saw barbs on the south side of Madras, I assume there is a camp down there as well.
