REPORT 253/40 AGENT M29
Mali cavalry (horse & elephant) approaching Hattusas. No artillery, probability of Mali victory low. Sacking of countryside possible. Hittite probability to engage outside of fortifications also low.
Noyyau borders were impervious to Malinese attempts, be they naval or espionage. Operation Poseidon's Embrace, and its counter-espionage sister Tartarus Pit, were ongoing successes.
In Turn 1141 the Three Gorges Dam was finally completed and activated. Its power output was so massive, it was deemed enough to provide electricity to the whole Everon continent.
The 2nd NO crossed the short distance between Pattaya and Tadmekka. The Interdiction Groups had met their objectives: no reinforcements had made it through the land bridges into north-eastern Mali, and there were few remaining troops in the city.
The 1st NO at the same time had crossed the gulf separating Awdaghost and Wadan, and disembarked in front of the last north-eastern Mali city.
Unable to bring reinforcements by land, the Malinese transferred some troops by ship, while the 1st NO's escorts were away from Awdaghost.
Wadan's defenders attempted to storm the 1st NO's positions. Despite inflicting some losses, their attempt was doomed to fail against a wall of machinegun bullets.
The rapid industrialization of Everon exacerbated the already deep gap between wealthy colonial land owners and the proletariat. Radical ideas began circulating, about wealth redistribution and the abolition of private property. Such concepts were disregarded by the public opinion, but took hold among the poorest.
More Malinese cavalry was brought outside Awdaghost.
Malinese artillery was spotted approaching Pattaya by patrolling airships. After some strafing runs by aircraft, Infantry captured the Malinese Cannons without trouble.
ORDERS 192/42 SPY K36
Aid and support remaining Hittite nationals in Kummanni. Destabilize Mali control of the area.
Malinese Frigates stood no chance against the Noyyau Navy.

Bibracte remained at high risk of Malinese sabotage, but the men and women working in operation Tartarus Pit did not lower their guard after their previous successes. At the same time, Malinese Cavalry once again charged against Noyyau Machineguns, with predictable results.
Artillery had been pounding Wadan since dawn. It had also been pounding Marco's head something fierce.
Despite all the time spent at the shooting range and at the tank trial grounds, the continuous and relentless explosions were on a completely different scale than what he had grown accustomed to in the last few months of training. Even his regulation ear muffs did not help, the vibrations trasmitted from the ground to his bones were equally jarring. For a brief moment Marco thought about the lucky airship and airplane pilots, immune to whatever was going on on the ground.
Then his gaze fell upon his men, relaxing under the summer sun on the steel beasts they were about to ride into battle, and any thought of trasferring away to the Air Corps disappeared. The 1st Tank Division. The most advanced and most powerful vehicles and weapons the world had ever seen. And they were his to command.
The sun was shining, the engines were roaring, and the horn finally sounded the attack. It was a primeval sound, the same sound that all Noyyau warriors had heard throughout history, since the ancient times of the First Spears of legend.
All units, close hatches and advance. Maintain formation, cruising speed!
Marco's voice was barely audible but his upper body was clearly visible, his arms relaying his commands with the signs practiced daily during training. The 1st Tank Division began moving across the abandoned Malinese farmland east of Wadan.
Keep this heading for the next three clicks. We should meet a railway line there, and we'll follow that to get to the city. shouted Marco to his driver, receving a thumb up as the only reply.
Through the slits surrounding the commander's seat, Marco surveyed the outlying buildings of the city, clearly made into makeshift fortifications. Did something just move in that window?
Hey Luca, I've got work for you!
Finally! I was worried you'd forgotten about me!
As if! We're fighting a war here, not cruising the countryside for a picnic! Direction 017, that squat building with the windows on the first floor, see it?
Yeah, I got it. Want me to blast it?

Contrary to expectations, the Hittites did engage the Malinese cavalry. The revolt in Kummanni was probably the main reason for the attack, the Hittites taking advantage of the unrest for a chance to retake their city.
Citizens of the Free Noyyau Republic, this is the President.
It is with sadness that I must convey you the news that the Malinese government, despite the loss of an entire section of their home continent and their mounting losses in the field, have stubbornly refused to surrender to us. Is it pride? Is it blindness to our military, industrial and technological superiority? In truth, it matters little. I have conferred with our military commanders, and they assure me that the Noyyau military machine is running perfectly, and is more than capable to conquer the entire Mali continent, if necessary.
And conquer we shall, as our ancestors did, until there is no opposition. Only then will it be possible to discuss the possibility of limited autonomy for what once were Malinese lands.
President Roslin, out.
Malinese commanders kept throwing the lives of their men against Noyyau Machineguns, while Malinese agents realized that their own population did not support their attempts to destabilize Noyyau rule in Bibracte.
The last survivors of the Malinese Cavalry outside Awdaghost were destroyed by coordinated Tank and Infantry sorties.
Based in improptu airfields near Pattaya, Airships and Fighters began scouting and harassing beyond North-eastern Mali.
After the Malinese refusal to surrender, the 2nd NO set its sights on Mohawk, on the south-eastern corner of the Mali continent.
In Turn 1145, with most of the Malinese expedition away from the city fighting the Hittites, the few remaining citizens of Kummanni took arms and expelled the Malinese invaders.
