AND2 and SVN Bug Reports - A New Dawn 2 ONLY

is there a way to reduce the savegame size? without to change the game, we have right now on a oline game about 3,7mb and we get very often the synchronisation error, i think it has to do with the mb size of the savegame, any idea what could help to reduce it?
No, there's no way to reduce size but believe me, OOS has nothing to do with savegame size.

@gram123 I've had this happen to me before, but it was like 3 years ago. I don't remember what I did to fix it. If your game works fine with other mods, then it is an issue with the mod install (or file permissions within the mod install). That should point you in the right direction. If I remember how I solved my issue, I'll PM you.

@zeroRPGmaker when i launch the game the process civ 4 bts starts, consumes some CPU and Disk load and then after 30 sec or so disapears. The game runs fine with other mods and without mods.

Hello and let me express enormous thanks to dev team for the work you are doing:goodjob:. Now I have experienced 2 bugs so far, one easy and fixable and one I do not understand, at all (my knowledge of coding is limited).

Win 7 64 bit
Latest version (974 that is) installed over retail version patched to 3.19 and modified:

  1. changed research and unit production speeds on epic in CIV4GameSpeedInfo.xml (longer research, more units)
  2. Cheated my start in CIV4CivilizationInfos.xml for Egypt by adding Settler, workers and great generals :)
  3. no other file modified

BUGS:
  1. Palace of Potala (Great wonder for Buddhists): in the description it says that "reduces War Wearness" but in reality (the info just couple lines above) it adds 25%. I fixed this for myself by just adding negative sign in the Civ4BuildingInfos, making it -25, but I am not sure if this was intended.
  2. My second bug appears to be a bit of a mystery to me, but it is easily reproducible.
    • When I have enough money to rush production in multiple cities, it only hurries the cities at my main continent, not the cities on other continents or islands - at my new game it only hurries first couple of cities.
    • When I select any city from F1 screen on another landmass and rush it, it deselects the city and music start to play until I select another city.
[*]Also, I have problem setting multiple cities to maximize its production for food or hammers etc...

I will start a new game soon without modifying the game (since I am starting to understand the changes you made), but I cannot see how editing the files mentioned above might produce this bug...
I had to pack my save file (bigger than 2Megs). If you need any info, just ask.

I've got a keyboard hot key conflict between Sentry and Automate Protect, they both use the "s" key when only Sentry should be using it. I think maybe shift-s or "S" should be Automate Protect? Ctrl-s or ^s is Save and Alt-s is Sign... How do i fix the "s" key to do the Sentry command again or ???

Other things...

What is the sell building command? I want to sell all the buildings before building out settlers to reduce the city to nothing, i think Ctrl-a is the kill city key?

Why are there bananas falling out of what look like date or coconut trees?? How did the graphics ever get so mixed-up? Bananas from Banana Plants do not look like Dates/Coconuts from palm trees, which is it? It's only cosmetic i assume.

Regarding the Special Resource Icons (Oil,Iron,Bananas, etc.), how do i make them display a smaller overall icon size so i can view the map better when zoomed out?

Health (the white dot with red +) seems to be too easy to over-build, so much so that i'm never really concerned about the city's unhealthy level (the green puke faces), maybe this should get some more balancing so it's at least some concern while playing early game.

What revision, difficulty level, era...?

Health is being worked on and it's not as overabundant as it used to be. Still is easily manageable, just not as much as it was prior ^^

Got a bug, latest revision + some XML changes I was trying out. Mod name is Rise of Mankind - V Work. Both saves are 1-2 turns away from founding Hellenism, but the religion is not founding when I finish the tech. I've sometimes noticed Hinduism is not founding at all as well.

Other note: I think Revolution is okay now, EXCEPT for the Overcrowding Unhappiness. Is it supposed to cripple cities when they get to size 4? That's what I am noticing at this point.

Latest build 974?, player difficulty Chieftain iirc (side note here, the AI always chooses Noble and is unchangeable in Custom Setup, is the "unchangeable" normal, i thought we could choose each of the AI's playing level?), era Ancient to Classical(?) so far... iirc in later eras i'll need city health much more. Glad for everything you'all are doing for AND2! =)

I had the same issue, kinda had to click the no-growth at 3 on minor cities until either wonders added extra size or Monarchy was implemented, then all was happy in the cities! I liked that city growth was so difficult against the backdrop of angry/unhappy citizens, especially when i take control of conquered cities and they rebelled and flipped at times, the challenges made that fun for me at least. =)

Chieftain is one of the easiest difficulty levels and you get an abundance of free help on that difficulty level, so that's probably contributing to it. As for the AI, they're always at Noble unless Flexible Difficulty changes them. You can't - as far as I know - adjust their difficulty yourself, only your own difficulty.

Guys, are you able to update to rev975? I'm not, for some reason the launcher keeps me on rev974 and shows no updates available. Might be a Sourceforge problem.

Same here.

I'm on 975 from the SVN.

I don't consider it a bug, but anyway worth reporting: if you modify the file Civ4GameTextInfos.xml to don't display the annoying "[Civilization] wins a [Victory Type] Victory!!!!" (see here), when you load the mod you'll get a TXT_KEY_MISC_WINS_VICTORY error.

There's definitely a bug with Traders... If i delete them from a City's production queue i cannot re-add them at times!

This happens often, for example i deleted two Traders from the end of a city queue (one was *) and then they stayed greyed-out till next turn even though hovering over build icon reports 2.

What really pissed me off was i had a long City queue and my Trader was 1 turn from done, but i wanted to add a Spy to be 2nd in the queue, so i Ctrl-click Spy (it's 1st) then click on almost finished Trader (who got bumped down to 2nd place), but once the Trader dequeued i can not add it back till next turn!! Errrm.

Other...

Why's there not an Icon for Units to Pillage (Shift-p) our own tiles? Does it only show-up on enemy tiles? Wait-a-minute, Shift-p won't work, so how do we pillage our own tiles??

I'll check the problem with trader. And of course you cannot pillage your own territory!

There's a BUG option that turns on/off pillaging friendly territory. A New Dawn tab, middle column, 2/3rds of the way down.

I have stumbled across a repeatable Python error in Revolutions. I have attached a save game that is exhibiting this behavior every time I end the current turn. There is a second error that I haven't been able to reproduce yet; I know it said something about government center and I actually lost a city to it.

BUG Options>A New Dawn>Empire Management>No Friendly Pillaging? Thanks for the sanity check, I do have the "No Friendly Pillaging" box unchecked/ticked, but it still won't let me, wth?

Other...

BUG Options>Map>Miscellaneous>Field of View: does not seen to remember the Field of View when checked/ticked, it always starts at 40.
Also, the BUG Mod Help button fails to locate the the "BUG Mod Help-ENG.chm" file.
Where do i set/mod the Auto-Save to Save every turn? The game seems to never have generated a "Civilization4.ini" file. ? Ok, the ReadMe.htm for the game has a typo - I needed to search for the "CivilizationIV.ini" file.

I sometime pillage my own resources to duck out of unfair AI trades

When they ask 9/10's of your treasury, all your current income per turn, a tech or three (minimum), and all of your spare resources..... If I have any of 'em that only has one copy of it I'll just waltz over and pillage it so the painful per-turn drains get canceled on the following turn instead of waiting for it to end.

In Civilziation III that'd result in the AIs no longer trusting you and refusing to trade anymore (like how the constant backstabbing war bribes currently works now), even if it wasn't your fault but there's no such mechanic in IV so....... :mischief:

I remember reading horror stories about that. Trading with an empire and another AI bumps them off? You broke a deal as far as the game's concerned, and then bam - the world refuses to trade with you anymore because you're a deal-breaking schemer
