It looks to me that Advanced Cargo mod is disabled for some reason. I've tried again and it works for me with the latest revision. Those 2 available cargo spaces should also appear in the "special abilities" frame in the image you've uploaded. It does so in my version. I'm really out of ideas beside a faulty installation.

Same problem. I just wanted to let you know that it happened when I updated to revision 677 and it continues through 679. Installed the updates using the full downloads. Hope this helps.

Was going for my spaceship victory but got a scientific win 10 turns prior to the ship reaching AC :p

Going to try to help with the galley issue. Grabbed the latest full build and did a full reinstall of Civ4 and add ons followed by the mod. Deleted everything prior to installing.

See what I can see, more to follow....

No, uninstalling Civ4 and Bts is not necessary, it will not help. It is clearly a problem with the mod (settings, faulty installation, etc). Has no relation with Civ4 or Bts. It is clear that the vast majority of players will work fine, but something is wrong in some installations. I'll try to find what is wrong

EDIT: I never use the full installer, always work with svn. Apparently, there was a problem with svn. The last time I update the mod, I did from version 678 to version 679. I did not realize that my galleys had no cargo capacity until latest revision 679, since I have not played seriously since version 674, I 've been doing almost exclusively modding and autoplay AI.

Apparently something went wrong with some previous upgrade through the svn, and this made my galleys had no cargo space. Every time I tried to reinstall version 679, my galleys were losing the cargo space.

I had to downgrade to the 674 revision via the svn, the last version without Advance Cargo Mod, and update back to version 679, and my galleys have regained their cargo space. I guess the svn, at some point, went crazy when upgrading. Now everything is fine.

Apparently, if the mod is installed with the full installer, there is also no any problem. I will now return to enjoy disembarking with my galleys again. Thank you very much and sorry for the inconvenience 45°38'N-13°47'E. :)

EDIT2: I have detected what was the problem in my installation. The use of the installation option Formations.

Apparently, Formations does not support Advanced Cargo Mod

I've only had to delete the affected units (War Galley and Galley) in CIV4UnitInfos.xml file inside the Modules / Formations / XML folder, and also delete Formations_CIV4UnitSchema.xml. This file is outdated, and also lacked of these entries required for the Advanced Cargo Mod:

"iSpecialCargoSpace" and "iTotalCargo".

I have put in his place the AND_CIV4UnitSchema.xml file, and renamed this file as Formations_CIV4UnitSchema.xml. I do not think necessary the Schema change, but as it is an outdated file, I updated it.

Once this is done, everything is perfect. So I guess, that anyone who uses Formations, lose the cargo space in War Galleys and Galleys. I have not looked into the file if some other unit with cargo space is affected. Now I have to sleep, which is very late in my time zone.

I hope I have been helpful.
:)

So it looks like we should not instal Formations from now on.
I always did instal it altough always played with single unit graphics :crazyeye:

Thank you Maska_zgz  and pleasant dreams

Yes, we will have to wait for it to be repaired at some future revision.

For now, if anyone wants to continue using Formations, I've uploaded a HotFix to Dropbox. You just have to overwrite the Formations folder and its contents, in the Modules folder. I have reviewed all units with <iSpecialCargoSpace> and <iCargo>, and only the Galleys and War Galleys are affected by Formations. The HotFix removes the entries of these units in the submod, updating also the Schema.

Replaced the Formations folder in My C:/Games/Civilization/BTS/Mods/ROMAND/Assets/Modules and it doesn't seem to have any effect for my on going game. Units still won't load and Transport units don't show cargo capacity.

Look into Civilopedia, in section units, in the Galley unit:

In the box Special Abilities says Cargo Space 2?

If in the Civilopedia says that the Galleys have cargo space, remember that the units built during the bug not recover their carrying capacity. Only the new recruited units will have the cargo space. Try a new game.

If in the Civilopedia not put anything (Please upload a image), try to follow these steps :

1 - Download and Install the latest version of ROMAND (679) via svn or Full Installer. Use the fix for Formations (overwrites Formations folder and files if necessary). Do not start the mod yet.

2 - Delete the cache of the game manually. In Windows 7, you must delete the cache folder in this path: C: \ Users \ YourName \ AppData \ Local \ My Games \ Beyond the Sword. Do not start the mod yet.

3 - Delete CivilizationIV.ini and CivilizationIV.ini.bak files in the folder: C: \ Users \ YourName \ Documents \ My Games \ Beyond the Sword. Start the mod.

4 - If the above is well done, in Civilopedia should reflect the Galleys and War Galleys again have cargo space. Start a new game and check it.

If you follow these steps strictly, and your problem is not solved, the problem must be different to mine. For me and two of my friends, this has worked out perfectly. Try to install the mod with the full installer without installing Formations during the installation, see if this works for you.

Is it only your existing units (built before the update) or newly built ones too. From some earlier post I learned that the ones built when you have the bug will continue to go on like that. Only the newer ones will have cargo.
I haven't tested it at all yet, still at my work place.
...for 5 more minutes

Yes and under Transports it shows 4.

I will attempt to forward a Save.

Buck

In my installation, with your saved game, I can not carry units in the old transports, but if I build a new one, or build one in the World Builder, I can put troops inside. I have built a transport in Uruk, accelerating its construction with gold. In the next turn, I could carry the four units in that city in the new transport.

Try to create a new transport, or play a new game on Quick speed, reaches the Sailing tech, build a galley, and try transporting units in the Galley. Takes few turns to do this test, and if you can transport units in the Galley the bug is gone.

I could not transporting units in a Galley before with Formations on, now if I can.

Yep, I tried it just before reading your latest. The new units do accept units. Guess if I want to continue this game I will have to scrap the old and start rebuilding.

Thanks

I am very glad to know that the HotFix works for you. :)

You can rebuild your fleet of transports with World Builder, including the promotions that they had, to save time. In this case it is not cheating, it was for a bug in the mod. ;)

Like I ever worry about cheating.:D What happens in Calif stays in Calif and my AI opponent is so oblivious he/she just keeps on playing like nothing has ever happened.

Besides I can't win if I don't do do-overs.

Planed on reinstalling everything to include Civ and mods as I cleaned up my 240gb SSD boot/game drive

Still excellent catch on formations being the cause! :goodjob:

Thanks Maska_zgz, I too play with formations, and have found Galleys and War galleys won't carry units, no biggie, as I hardly ever use them to transport units anyway.

But Transports, I will use, and as I'm playing a 3 continent game, I'll need them.

Though I have seen the Barbarians drop off 2 Axes ONCE ONLY at a site, where I had just moved a city from. I may have updated the game to SVN 679 from a 678 start, and they had built the galley beforehand. Haven't seen any other drop offs from Barb galleys patrolling up and down my coast.

Thanks for the hot fix, every little bit helps for 45Deg, and the other modders.

If I might suggest a small edit to the file, to keep formations with SVN updates

Spoiler :

Just add this comment, where you enable formations, edit the file directly with a text editor

<!--- This allows formations ---> 3 or 4 only, no more or less ---

Great Maska! I'll include the fix in next revision.

A different thing:
I play a game on snail speed with Ramesses and found that his Spiritual trait grants "Max 1 turn of anarchy". I remember that in AND1.75 it was max 3 turns.
Without spiritual changing 3civics take 12turns of anarchy on snail. I do not know whether it is a bug or a feature but I if the latter it seems very unbalanced for me for the first sight.

Anarchy is too long in this mod at any gamespeed, especially early game Civic changes impo. I've never liked how long it takes. If it takes the AI 12 turns on snail then players in the past have complained that the AI is "in anarchy all the time".

All combined anarchy should never be more than 3 turns max. Single Civic changes should never be more than 1 turn. Double Civic changes should be 2 turns.

I'm still getting random crashes to desktop.

I've looked in the Pythondbg.log file and noticed this

Spoiler :
PY: Loading revolution data
Error! Rebel types not found, no short lists available

I've seen this before, and it seems to have continued, but now I have a repeating crash.

I've loaded an earlier save, thinking it was something I did, but no, that played for about 8 turns, then crashed as well.

SVN 679
Eternity game speed.
Giagantic map.

Game is attached.
