Oh, one thing I forgot to mention is that most of the gallics are fortified, becuase I wanted to leave the possibility for the next player to move them around if they chose. At least, for the ones that weren't nearly dead.
 
Hmm, it's about time to get our techs out of Abe. I for one doubt that he's gotten more then a single MA tech that he's not offering. We can consolodate our core & finish grabbing those spices(to the south), while building our forces back up(with an improvement or two thrown in the mix) for the next 5-10 turns. Then it's time to turn on someone else(hopefully the new tech leader:mwaha: ).

All close arab cities are gone, and a campain agaist his heartland would be not advisable at this time.

I think its time to push the aztecs back somewhat, so i will move some troops in position. I don't expect much more from Abu, and i think i try to get something for a peace, when he wants talk again.

Final Notes:

I gained 6 techs, destroyed six (small) cities. Two Aztec cities should fall next turn. We should clear some aztec land from them, they don't have chivalry yet, but can build knight when they get it, so they should be hammered real hard now.

I think the empty space, where everyone wants settle is a great field for pointy stick research. Let them settle some cities, and then raze them, as they are quite puny.

Germany and the Mongols start now to rise. Maybe we should take a look in this direction.
On the other hand we hold the others in constant warfare/settling mode, which should slow'em down somewhat.

I DONT think we should ally the arabs against america. The arabs don't have iron, but when they take Atlanta, this could change.

We should keep the western part (exept the Aztecs) at its current size. In the IA it should be much easier to fight wars this far from home.

As I mentioned in my turn log, I think we can "confine" Monty to his little peninsula, especially if we get muskets by then. Push him back to the peninsula (most of the other towns are quite small), throw some muskets up on the mountains and blockade him in.

Granted, we may not want to give up the troops needed to put up this blockade (I would guess 2 muskets per square just to be safe, but we could probably do with just 1 at least until cavalry). This would make the land-settling mass a little easier to manage with one less civ to give the boot to.

Or, depending on how well things go, we could just kill Monty too:devil2:

After Action - I’m run a block near the incense colony.

It may be time for peace with Monty. The nice open lands are no longer nice and open.

I think we need to rethink how we are approaching this. It may behoove us to run a block of an area once we destroy a city. Otherwise we are going to be reconquering everything five and six times.

It is already getting difficult to reinforce the front with all these cities in the way.

Warfare is the only way to keep the ai from re-settling. Its in front of our door, so we can strike there without the need of rails. Also those cities are quite weak. And its nice for a rewarding peace to have a couple of razed cities ;)
 
I've been thinking we need to run several blockades, to keep the AI out of our play ground.

Do you have enough spare slaves to block key resettlement areas? A bit cheesey but effective. Keeps your colonies and free road access to your numerous fronts.
