250AD, Inherited Turn
Everything looks fine, hit enter.
IBT - Aztecs settle in the middle of our road network. They are the ones I am worried about profiting from all of our ground-clearing, but there is no suitable opposing AI to embattle them with.
Entrement: Gallic -> Gallic.
260AD, Turn 1
Wanted to pit Arab and Carthage against each other, but they must be trading because they both refuse to do so.
We didn't have an embassy with Azteca. They're big enough that I decide it's worth the gold.
Aztecs will have GLib in 4, and only one horse source but it's by their capital (of course, of course), so their's no hope of cutting that off quickly.
And the Aztecs also refuse to go to war with anybody else. Where did all these hippie civs come from??

Looking at Azteca in all earnest, I believe they should be our next target. They have a number of small cities outside of their core, but they can also be easily blocked off at the landbridge to their capital. We weaken Azteca, banish them to their homelands, and set up a guard to keep them there. Just some

for thought.
Healing the troops for a further push into America.
IBT - Crap, I did not know the workers were that much in danger! An American MDI captures and disbands them.
Washington D.C. completes the Great Library. Is it allowed to capture and abandon this city or must that wonderful wonder burn?
Everyone who can begins Sun Tzu's.
Arabia and Aztecs settle more towns.
270AD, Turn 2
Elite Gallic kills American MDI, -3HP no promo.
Heal and position troops
IBT - 4 American MDIs appear on the northern road. If that's where they are counter-attacking then our troops are very much out of position.
Alesia: Gallic -> Gallic.
280AD, Turn 3
Vet Horse redlines vs MDI and retreats, no damage done.
Elite Gallic kills MDI, -1HP no promote
Vet Gallic redlines vs MDI and retreats, no damage done.
Wow, my RNG sucks.
Vet Gallic kills MDI, -1HP and promotes. That's better
3 Gallics advance on New York. May have to pillage a road or two as well.
IBT - Carthage wants us to leave his lands. Well maybe you shouldn't have settled there then!

American MDI loses to Gallic, -1HP
American MDI redlines Gallic which retreats.
Aztecs and Arabs have a RoP as I see Arabs using roads where they shouldn't be.
Lugdunum: Horse -> Horse
290AD, Turn 4
Buffalo's Bane flawless kills an MDI. I knew he had it in him!
Redlined Gallic to the north (they're all redlined up there) pillages the road and runs.
3/5 Gallic kills Warrior, -1HP no promote.
Nobody will still fight each other. The cheapest to enlist against America is Carthage (350g + WM).
300AD, Turn 5
With New York defended by a Pike on a hill, I will not attack unless the Cat connects first. So I fortify.
Dancing with Arabs sure is fun.
Troops move onto mountain east of Houston. As soon as they heal, they'll attack.
IBT - Entrement: Gallic -> Gallic
310AD, Turn 6
Carthage can now be bought into America for WM + 312g... still too rich for me.
Catapult connects!
Elite Gallic kills Pike in New York without a scratch.
Elite Gallic kills Spear in New York, -2HP
Vet Gallic kills MDI in New York, and we are rewarded with 3 slaves.
Abe will give us Mono, Fued, Eng, 5g, and 3gpt to leave them alone. After I burn Houston I'll think about it.
IBT - Abe wants to talk. Abe, we just talked, go gossip with someone else!
MDI kills the Gallic that burned New York, but redlines itself.
Arabs found Bukhara very close to Lugdunum.
320AD, Turn 7
Okay, nobody wants to fight... still. Looking at the F4 screen, I see why. Everyone seems to have an RoP with everyone else. Or a trade. Aztecs, however, don't have anything with Carthage except a peace treaty. Perhaps its a relatively recent treaty then.
Elite Gallic kills redlined MDI, no loss.
Elite Gallic redlines and retreats vs Spear in Houston, -1HP to Spear
Elite Gallic kills Spear in Houston, -3HP.
Elite Gallic kills Spear in Houston and the city burns. 2 weakling Americans decide to pay eternal homage in return for their lives.
Northern troops, now refreshed, move to assault San Fran next turn.
Decide to round out the embassy-building.
Mongol's cost 38g:
Zulu's cost 41g:
IBT -
America has knights. One redlines our Gallic before dying. I'm tempted to pull the plug on the war now, but will see how much farther I can go first.
2 MDI's attack out of San Fran. -1HP and a promotion is all they can give us before staining the grass with their blood.
Settler pair sneaks up near the ruins of Houston.
Alesia: Gallic -> Gallic.
330AD, Turn 8
4/5 Gallic redlines pike at San Fran but dies.
4/5 Gallic redlines then kills Spear at San Fran.
3/4 Gallic redlines then kills pike at San Fran. 2 more American fools are enslaved. Now that the northern road is again in our control, I send workers to repair it.
Heal up remaining troops.
IBT - Lugdunum: Horse -> Horse
Barbs show up on the spices to the south.
340AD, Turn 9
Elite Gallic kills settler pair, -2 HP +2 slaves.
Healing away...
IBT - MDI redlines Gallic, which retreats.
350AD, Turn 10
Elite Gallic redlines vs MDI and retreats.
Elite Gallic flawlessly beats Spear.
For all the killing, my ratio was 19 kills to 2 losses -- not counting slaves gained or lost.
I'm going to leave it there for now, basically cause I am feeling a little in over my head here. I don't know whether to press on (which perhaps I was too conservative with) or sue for peace.
I would sue for peace, however I'm not sure whether we should trade for some base MA techs first, to see if we can get anything else out of Abe. Theology is known (I think) and I know Invention is known.
Abe will give Fued, Mono, Engr, 77g, 6gpt, and WM for us to leave him alone. He probably would throw in some higher techs. We can buy Fuedalism and Monotheism if we want to try to get Chivalry and Theology from him. Or buy Engineering and hope he has Invention. The problem is that we can probably only buy two techs, and more than one will probably take all the money we have.
So here's to someone smarter than me to figure this out.
