OMG! Not only is he back, but hw is willing to mod! Sweet! :D

Hiya there, Red Alert, you don`t know me, I`m kinda new compared to you Ancients, but I wanna say that I really like your stuff and that it is an honour to finally meet you! :)

What he said

RedAlert, you will see from below that I really need your help!!

IMHO, the Indian cities are in the most dire need of your help. Anything you can do would be most appreciated :goodjob: !!

Indian cities, eh? I may be able to help you there. ...(While we're on the topic of Indian cities, did Aion ever finish his?)
Welcome back!

Unfortunately Aion never posted any finished files or even WiP images. I can put together more concept art like I posted in that thread. R8XFT has already asked me about buildings for the Indian civs and I'm working on the list. Several I have in mind would reasonably appear as elements in the city graphics as well. Anything I can do help or encourage you, let me know.

The other thing I hadn't noticed until now (as I've only just brought in the Indian culture group) is that the first two eras of the Indian civs is the same as the latter two eras of the Mediterranean civs.

@Plotinus: interesting. I personally think that they are both era three cities (we're talking about fall of the Roman Empire/Viking age sort of time with this mod in era 3). Maybe I need to choose one and seek an alternative for the first two eras?

Incidently (as if you didn't know) the fourth era for India is basically taken from the previews Aion gave of his cities.

Asoka2.0.jpg

Asoka of the Mauyran empire. Thanks to Blue Monkey for his feedback on a previous incarnation; hopefully, this should hit the mark ;) .

Yes, they are both era three sort of cities... But I think the one you currently have as era two looks more advanced than the other, with a motte-and-bailey sort of look rather than the Norse longhouses look.

Let's see if RedAlert can offer an alternative :mischief: !! Plotinus, is Asoka okay? I'm about to render him.

Woah, lots of posts.
@ Stormrage, Kerero, & Partizanac: Wow - Thanks you guys! :) It's a pleasure to meet you too.
@ odintheking & varwnos: Thank you both! It's good to see you both again.
@ Blue Monkey: Hi there. If you could do anything to help I would really appreciate it.
@ R8XFT: Thanks for the city previews - that will help. I would be happy to help with anything you need city graphic-wise. Also, what are the four eras? What dates do they roughly correspond to?
I also have a suggestion for an era of the european culture group. They're from the ancient mediterranean mod:

@ Plotinus: I couldn't leave out Plotinus. Hi Plotinus :)
How long have you been a moderator?

Era one = toolworking is discovered at the beginning; goes up to the Bronze Age.
Era two = iron is discovered at the beginning; goes up to c.200AD
Era three = fall of Rome/Viking Age
Era four = Feudalism at the beginning - goes up to around 1500AD.

I also have a suggestion for an era of the european culture group. They're from the ancient mediterranean mod:

It's a possibility; maybe second era? Then have the hill forts as third era? Perhaps then only the first era could do with a bit of "touching up." The fourth era could stay as it is.

I'm reasonably happy with the Celtic and Mediterranean groups - though the Med could do with perhaps the second and third era roofs matching era one?; I'm sort of happy with the Middle-Eastern one as well, though it's meant to cover Egypt, Persia, Nabataea and Israel - so quite a range really. It looks okay, but lacks continuity through the ages.

I'm really glad you're back - you couldn't have timed it better ;) !!

I would agree that the ancient era does look more african than celtic.

For the first era of the european culture group, would something touched up along these lines work?

A question that might sound daft - but isn't so daft - is this: am I putting the Scots in the European group or the Celtic group? This is both for cities and for some of the techs/buildings, for example, druidry/druid's grove.

If you do think that about the ancient era of the celts, could you please do something that could replace the first era? Despite Sword_of_Geddon stating that there are plenty to choose from, there's none I liked - except the ones I'm using in other eras. Perhaps also the fourth era could be amended to make it in line with the other eras?

Looks great!! That's exactly what I had in mind  .

I could certainly work on some alternative celtic cities.
(Oh and are you referring to the fourth era of the european culture group or the celtic culture group?)

I am glad you like the preview pic I posted above. I just scrounged that up in the last 45 minutes or so.

I would say that the Scots should definately go in the celtic group.
