I spent 6 years playing The Ancient Mediterranean mod for Civ 4 and I see that I will spend more time playing Anno Domini.
At this point, I'm playing Rome, large map, marathon speed, 8 civilizations, around turn 650, proconsul difficulty.
I had difficulties in the third age, because the legions and the bath are far ahead in the technological tree, I had not founded a religion and ended in an Dark Age. This is what happens to stupid people who start playing without examining the technological tree before.
I did not find bugs or crashes of any kind. There are a few minor mistakes and I consider that the only way to pay for the great service you've provided by building this excelent mod is by pointing out where small adjustments can be made.
1. The great general Gustavus Adolphus promised me a bombard and gave me nothing ... not even a paper with the inscription: "present this note to a Chinese in a thousand years and he will teach you how to make a bombard". I would be happy with a catapult.
2. There is a small error in the Phalangite combat screen.
3. Throughout the game, whenever I kill any enemy, even a barbarian scout, I get 14 gold coins as a reward. I like to know they carry money in their pockets.
4. After the beginning of the fourth age, cities and military camps began to use gunpowder to defend themselves... maybe Gustavus Adolphus gave them the bombard he promised me. (Yes, I know this is animation of the game itself, but it is strange.)
5. The great generals of more advanced ages are using Jeep to get around. I do not know if it is possible to change that and give them good horses.
6. In the fourth era, the card that increase the production of units of the third and fourth era (Warrior Spirit) is still available although the card that increases the production of units of the fifth era (Military Prowess) is already available.
7. The markets are far ahead in the technological tree and without traders it is reasonably difficult to keep the flow of money in the earliest eras.
8. After I was unjustly denounced, whenever other civilizations talk to me to propose business, the denunciation screen overlaps the negotiation screen.
9. Logswordman has two movements on mountainous terrain. I do not know if this is intentional.
10. For a scientific victory, space colonization projects can be replaced by the Silk Road posts, as was done at TAM.
Overall, the mod is excellent and very accurate historically. No bug that spoils gameplay. I really enjoyed it.
(Sorry for my bad english and do me a final favor: if you find Gustavus Adolphus, let him know that I'm still waiting for my bombard.)
