Whats the difference between being bigoted against nazis versus having a healthy skepticism against groups who think you would be better off dead?

What's the difference between this hypothetical and anything that's been expressed in this thread (or rather, what's the similarity)?

It's not that he doesn't agree, it's that he actively defends bigots rights.

Because they have rights. You can't just strip people's rights away from them for "being bigots". That's completely totalitarian. You're not going to make me feel bad for defending that position.

By rights I of course mean the same rights that everyone else has, not some stupid strawman like "the right to murder you" before you're tempted to claim that's what I'm saying.

Is there a substantive difference between the two? "Defending bigots rights" is not agreeing with you, isn't it, because what you want is to strip these people of some rights? Is that a fair estimation of your position?

Then you should own the resulting suffering that minorities face from bigots, bigots that continue to exist because people like you run defence for them and think they have a place in society at the expense of everyone else.

What would you have be done then?

Edit: Sorry if you've elaborated on this before, it's a long thread.

Yeah, no. I don't have to feel guilty for every single thing anyone might or could ever do in the world, just because I support people having the rights to free speech and to not be attacked. Please try again.

Also do you know what "bigot" means? It doesn't just mean "mean people that I don't like" you know. As I keep saying, you are almost undeniably a bigot yourself.

Ostracise them, protest them everytime they attempt to gather in force, shame them everyday until they learn that their ideas are poisonous and cancerous and that they too will be treated as such until they change.

Lol, weird how after all this it turns out I actually agree with this statement. Well... apart from that the "they too" bit doesn't appear to make sense in this sentence.

Ok, you are free to do that now arn't you? But you were talking about rights. Despite all the lofty discourse surrounding human rights, rights are given and upheld by governments. So you would not want the government to restrict their rights in anyway?

There is such a thing as hate speech law.
