Arckons Next 24Civ Pitboss game; details and discussion here

Turn just flipped again. It seems to be around this time of day. :)

I'm hoping for a Civstats weekend. It will soothe my slight bit of really unfortunate luck so far. :(

So I guess I'm just SOL then huh? Whatever...

No, I need to know what civ classic_hero had, and give him a chance to tell me.

I plan to kick him from England so you can claim it, and kick whoever took his country, etc, tracking it backwards till we get things back to where they were.

But I want to see how far it goes before starting it. If its half the players in the game, then I guess its better to leave it be, but if its just one player, or wto, maybe three, its not a problem.

Well I took England since my country Rome was taken over. I thought that it was firs come first served in this game and not the previous civs that you had before. There is a problem with that since it now means that I know exactly what the England strategy is like and that it something that is a spoilish for me to know that while going back to Rome.

Well, I guess thats the way it goes. I had Mongols all the time, was pretty content with them and only in the last start they were taken and I had to switch to India.

OK, so its all mixed up.

That is sad.

Who is the new player that wasnt in the last game?

Rome was not "taken over" and I don't think England was either. I could not get the civ I had before the restart but that doesnt matter anyway.

If you scroll back a few pages Arckon said this for the restart without mod: "If you want a civ, take it if you can, no reserevations."

Well, that quote says it all.

Indeed, Post #393 said that there were no reservations and to take whatever we wanted. So I took America since it was not taken in the last game. I set up a password and had played the first few turns until I left for vacation on Monday afternoon. I set someone up to play my turns in my absence. When I got back on Friday Arckon had removed my password and given my civ to someone else. If this is the way these games are run I am not sure I want to play in a game run by Arckron. I have been patient through all the restarts because I think a game that is this many players on the world map would be pretty fun and this is what I get in return. No warning emails or anything, just a removal of my password and my civ that I started given to someone else.

Crazyjoe, the game crashed on Monday evening. We restarted from scratch on Tuesday morning. That is everything including passwords got erased. It looks like someone else took America on the restart and nobody noticed the change.

CrazyJoe, even though I can imagine your frustration and would probably have been as mad if I were in your shoes, I think you're a bit harsh on Arckon. Not sure many people would have gone to this much trouble to get a game started.:goodjob:

I thought the problem might have come about because of the restart on the 20th. That's why I asked about the date you went away. (Post# 458). I went back to the 14th and couldn't find any post warning of your intended absence.

Yea, it does look as if the problem came from the restart Monday evening and I missed that... I am sorry Arckon that I thought that it was you that removed my password and handed over my civ to someone else... Any plan on what to do about the situation though?

I'm getting an error.

'Unable to connect to player platfuss.

This person may have there firewall configured badly'

Or words to that affect anyway

if this happens again please retry to login a minute later. I will either exit the game or disable my firewall.
